If you want to do this with parellel with you switch as your starter starts you need your fan relay on .

just do parellel connection with starter.

No. Your problem most likely is the starter relay.
Let's try this again r you getting power to the relay if not could be ignition switch if power is present at relay but not at starter break in wire

Car won't engage starter


At the starter relay, you have two red or purple wires, one goes to the starter and the other comes from a 30amp fuseable link. Is that fuseable link circuit hot ?
From the key switch, power goes thru the alarm relay, then the clutch safety switch or automatic selector switch, then to the starter relay. The fourth wire on the starter relay is a ground.
You should be able to put power to the starter relay on the white or yellow wire coming from the safety switch to make the relay engage.
My guess is something wrong with the alarm system.

Car won't start after starting it with coolant temp sensor disconnected


Try a boost first before taking things apart,sound like low voltage.
Now about the fans.Sometimes it's easier (if the fans will work with voltage applied) just to install a relay and fire it off the switched power wire at the A/C compressor.Use this relay supply to voltage to the fans when the compressor runs.Want fans when not using A/C?Run a "in rad hose" temp switch and run that wire to the same relay to run fans when temp rises.Think after market hot rod stuff and keep it easy and simple,

1996 Saturn Fan won't work


-Why you want to hook up a switch to the fan...? You want to turn it on when you want?
-No Problem. Here some basic installation.
-Connect the hot wire to the positive (+) battery terminal.
-Connect both left over wire to the switch. Then connect 1 wire from the other side of the switch to ground. you should be good to cool down.

Fuse am2 problem on 94 toyota 2.2 4 cyl. blow out when trying to start car


The electrical circuit from the AM 2 fuse goes to the ignition switch, it leaves the switch out and branches off to the clutch start switch at the clutch pedal and then to the starter relay. The black and white wire coming out of the relay goes to the starter solenoid.

The circuit also includes the engine main relay, cooling fan relay, injection relay, EFI relay, and so on. You should have a wiring schematic to do this. If you don't have a repair manual with the schematics, you can get one with a subscription to the ALLDATAdiy.com.

I cant locate the cooling fan realy


It should be in the engine junction fuse box it the square big one take one relay out take the cover out expose the relay. This is now a tool. there you a re no able to collapse the switch take a relay out collapse it if the fule pump comes on that the fuel socket if the starter comes on that the starter socket until you identify the cooling fancansmo_111.gifcansmo_112.gifyour cooling fan relay can be solid state but that a rare one

My car does not start or turn over. The radio works and so does the fan.


When you turn the ignition key to start your car, voltage from the battery flows through the ignition switch to the Park/Neutral safety switch and/or brake pedal or clutch pedal safety switch (you have to push the pedal down before the circuit will complete) to the starter relay or solenoid. When the relay or solenoid is energized by voltage from the ignition switch circuit, it closes a contact that routes more power from the battery directly to the starter to crank the engine. The starter motor spins, pushes the starter drive gear to engage the flywheel and cranks the engine.

Low battery (Check battery voltage, recharge if low, or jump start with another vehicle or battery charger).
Loose or corroded battery cables (Inspect, clean and tighten BOTH ends of BOTH battery cables).
Bad starter relay wiring connections or ground connection (Inspect, clean, tighten wiring connections).
Bad starter relay/solenoid (Check for voltage at relay, if relay has voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace relay).
Bad starter (Jump battery voltage direct to starter to see if it spins, or remove starter and have it bench tested at auto parts store).
Damaged starter drive or teeth on flywheel (Remove starter and inspect drive gear and flywheel teeth, replace damaged parts if necessary).
Bad ignition switch (Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace ignition switch if defective).
Open P/N safety switch, or open Brake Pedal Safety Switch (automatic transmission) or open Clutch Pedal Switch (manual transmission). Bypass switch with jumper wire to see if engine cranks, or use test light or voltmeter to check for voltage passing through switch when ignition is turned to start.
Engine seized due to bearing failure or internal damage (Use socket and long handle to see if engine can be turned by hand, if not engine is locked up).
Engine hydrolocked due to coolant leak from leaky head gasket (Use socket and wrench to see if engine rotates, remove spark plugs and see if coolant comes out or engine can not be cranked with plugs out).

20 amp ignition fuse keeps blowing


I'm curious, does this vehicle have an alarm/remote starter? If so I expect the installer didn't wire it correctly ... it was an all too frequent issue, with inexperienced installers we had .... I would first suspect any add-on device first (if any) ... In answer to your question ... I know it does have a relay (Starter solenoid is a relay and built onto the starter) As far as it being a relay or the IGN switch ... I'm skeptical.
