When i select cold air, hot air is blown instead. When i select cold air with the AC, it is cold, and AC with hot air it is hot.

The thermostat controls the discharge temperature by using the compressor to cool and mixing hot water from the engine to match the setting. When you select AC, it enables the compressor to run from the thermostat. Else, only outdoor air is available.

Mini Cooper temperature gauge goes to red zone when idle

check coolant level could be too low allowing air in the cooling system causing air pocket in engine around the engine coolant sensor.coolant sensor needs to be in hot coolant so it will cause the cooling fan to come on at a set temperature.make sure coolant correct level and the coolant level in the cooling overflow jug should be at full cold mark.the cooling overflow jug should never be empty,if you see empty cooling overflow jug air got in the cooling system so make sure when engine cold every time raise hood make sure cooling overflow jug coolant level at full cold mark.if jug stay empty you have cooling leak.so replace radiator cap,if coolant level all good,i would replace the engine coolant temperature and thermostat.when your car come to a long stop or driving along long line of slow moving traffic the engine coolant blower motor should running if not have vechicle code scan for faulty coolant fan motor control module.or ecm problems.

What could cause my truck to have no heat?

the heater radiator could be blocked or the valve controlling the heater could be faulty ,,,, carefully check the heater hoses ,, they are the small ones running from the engine bay through the bulkhead into the car,,,they both should be hot ,,, if one is cold the water is not circulating either due to a blockage or the heater valve not working ,,, if the car has climate control you need to be sure that it is serviced properly as this system mixes the hot and cold air,, also at 210 you should have some heat , the best way to check if its the thermostat is to run the carstationary until it gets hot even if the thermostat is faulty the system will build up heat due to no cold air passing through the grill and coolng the engine radiator

Cabin Heat is Intermittent / Fluctuates / Cycles

You may have air trapped in the lines to or from the heater core.
If you (still) have a real radiator cap on the radiator, remove it with a cold engine, start and run the engine allowing it to warm up while watching the water/coolant level. Make sure the heater control is set to its highest heat setting while doing this. If it is trapped air, you may see it 'belch' after the engine is warm and the engine thermostat is open. Refill as needed if this is the case.
It's more difficult without direct radiator access and may require several cycles of hot/cold to allow refilling through the overflow.

My 2002 Ford Thunderbird is overheating. Have changed the thermostat but still overheats. My 2002 Thuderbird is overheating....had the Hydraulic Cooling Fan replaced 3 months ago.

You most likely have air in the system. These things can be a royal pain to get the air bleed out of the system.
Look back next to the brake booster and you will see a rubber tube with a screw cap in the end of it(this is the heater bleed), also on the front of the intake area you will see a black tube with an allen sloted cap.
Remove the slotted cap and screw the screw cc on the rubber tube. Add coolant to the coolant jug allowing the system to equalize until no more coolant can be added. Add as much coolant as possible to the engine fill( the sloted cap near intake). The heater air bleed will remain open.Replace the engine fill cap.Start the engine and turn the heater to MAX position.Close the heater air bleed when a steady stream of coolant comes from it, during engine idle. Allow the engine to idle for five minutes, add coolant to the degas bottle as needed to maintain the cold fill MAX mark.Reopen the heater air bleed to release any entrapped air and close again. Maintain engine speed of 2,000 rpm for 3-5 minutes or until hot air comes from the heater.Return to idle and verify hot air is still coming from the heater. Set the heater temperature setting to 75° F and allow the vehicle to idle for two minutes.Shut the engine off and allow to cool. After the engine has cooled, add coolant to the degas bottle to bring the level to the cold fill MAX mark. This should have the air out of the system.
