My 1989 Jeep Cherokee turn signals do not work. The high beam switch on the turn signal lever works. The hazards to work What should I look at first?

Take the steering column apart, remove the turn signal from the column, use a multimeter to preform a resistance/continuity test. If you apply the turn signal and cannot get low or no resistance, you will need to replace the turn signal.
Unlikely it is wires in this case, since both have quit. However, the left turn runs in a harness between your fender and the brake master cylinder. a visual inspection may not hurt.
Good Luck

R&R Steering column in 89 Jeep Cherokee base model. Cannot get replacement column to meet up with connecting shaft to steering box. Seems to short.

Most of these columns are telescoping to some extent, to absorb impact energy in a crash when something(such as you without a seat belt) hits them. Often, when the are removed from a vehicle they get collapsed. Pull on the connection end of the shaft, while someone holds the steering wheel end firmly. I don't know for sure if this is your problem, but it's somewhere to start.

Have a hard starting 1989 Jeep Wagoneer. Acts as if the pressurized fuel system has lost that pressure. Have changed the fuel pump, no change in problem. Have heard of an ''injector primer relay'' but...

check the resistor on the left fender back near the master cyl and see if its burned out. Also, you don't have to be loosing pressure from the pump, could be from the injectors as well. If you don't hear the pump right away when you turn the key, check the pump relay in the power distribution center...it may be balky.
This is one of those problems that really need a gauge test on line to see what is going on...guessing is hit or miss! Hope something here helped.

1989 Jeep Cherokee stalling out while idling

Try checking for any vacuum leaks. There should be a PCV valve that runs off of the intake manifold. They cost about $15.00 new from the dealer. After many years they crack, break and leak. This fixed it in my situation. Hope it helps

Finding the relay for electric fan on '89 jeep cherokee laredo 4.0

It is on the driver fender near air filter housing. Also next to the fuel pump ballast resistor. It is the white 3 inch long piece of ceramic on the fender with eletricial connectors on each end.
