There should be access from inside, right behing the light itself. Open the back hatch, and look to either side (bad bulb side) and see if there is a small "door" that you can access it. If not, and it's not externally accessable, than you may need to pull the inside panel side off get to it.

Hi! I've owned a 2013 Tribeca for over a year now. I purchased a bluetooth OBDII reader and use Torque Lite on my android smart phone to read and understand the codes. You can also clear off logged faults. I was on the freeway this summer and got a worrisome transmission error code, checked the code, cleared it, turned my car off and back on, everything was fine. If someone recently changed your sparkplugs, they may not have re-attached something properly. You can try removing the negative/black cable off your battery for 10 seconds then re-attach it securely and see if that resets the code at all. If not, take it back to the mechanic that changed your plugs.

I have a 2006 Jeep wrangler X and when I push the brake, the rear brake lights are very dim and sometimes do not work. I also noticed that when I turn on a left or right turn signal, the clicking and the...

can be 1 or 2 things.
f
t can be and open or short, keep that in mind and lamps can shortas do the ubiquitous trailer wiring hack jobs.
there. we have and 04 and 07 , in our home. we love jeeps.
some jeeps only have 1 lamp to do all the functions
blink, park/tail, turn, and the brake turns are shared.
your year is not shared.(USA 06)
if the flasher is fast and the brake dim
this tells me, the brake end is shorted to ground.
replace the lamps in the brake light housing for $1
some times they short when forced too hard.
or test them one at a time.
the non export mode has no extra lamps on side. for this function
in usa end back side.stop lamps and a center stop. got that?
no country stated and lamps vary by Country.

or look for trailer hack jobs. when i get a car the first thing
i look for is hack jobs. in the wiring. and under the rear of car
or near lamps, and associated wiring is 1st.
the collision damage not corrected correctly.
now online facts on 06 ,(not 03 cherooke as the blue box above shows)
06 wrangler.
it has 2 complex parts, the multifuction switch and the flasher.
the export model is totally different. as is the POSTAL version.
USA
the white/tan wire is brake lamp, remove all 3 and make sure the bulbs are not shorted , test them. make sure this color wire is not hacked, at the left tail light they all come to one point and tailer kits go here.
on this car , the combo switch decides (contacts) if the lamp
is brake or blink, in the turn center position is brakes.
in brake mode, you have 3 lamps rear (yours is shorted)
and in blink you have many left or right lamps.
what i find odd is the fast blinking left and right. is should only fail one why , left or right. unless the combo is messed up.
cycle the Emergancy switch, it might stuck half way, seen many do that.

How to change the brake lamp

With the rear hatch open you should see to black plastic plugs hiding the access screws, once those are removed swing the whole assembly out 4 to 6 inches. The only thing holding the other end is two posts on the light assembly go into two rubber sockets. Pull straight out from the vehicle and it will be removed.
