Your oil filter is located on the right side underneet the power steering oil. Its a black cap with a square notch on it to remove it.

Hope helps (remember to rate and comment this).

SOURCE: where is the oil filter for a 2005 chevy cavalier

ECOTec 2.4 Liter engine (and all ECOTec engine blocks in 4 cylinder sizes) have a cartridge type oil filter housing on the front of the block, driver's side of the vehicle.

The cap must be removed with a wrench, and the filter pulled out, then the new one put in. Now is usually a good time to replace the O-ring on the cap.

My 2005 Chevy Cavalier is severely leaking oil from a bolthole on the bottom of the oil pan. It is not the oil plug hole and there are a few holes like it without bolts in them but there is only one...

SOUND LIKE HOLE IN OIL PAN IF THE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG NOT LOOSE OR MISSING AND THE UPPER PAN BOLTS HOLES NOT MISSING A BOLT CAUSE LEAKING.MORE LIKELY YOU HAVE HOLE IN THE OIL PAN.

The oil filter is ontop of the engine underneath the engine cover down by the right side of the intake manifold you will see a black cap with a nut on it i believe it is a 36 mm when you loosen that cap the filter is under that, it is a cartridge style filter.

How do I remove oil filter cover for 2005 cavalier

With a service wrench or socket, I believe 32mm.

It's composite plastic, so be careful not to over-tighten it.
