Question about 2006 Chrysler Town & Country

Open Question

I recently attempted to install a remote start and keyless entry unit on my 2006 chrysler town and country. while installing, i found the previous owners had installed some aftermarket devices and cut and splice many wires on the ignition harness in the steering column, spliced in a wire on the brake harness, ****-connected a couple of wires together and put a small push button inline with another wire. After my installation the unit did not work, and the brake lights would come on and stay on, draining the battery. I removed everything I had installed, and the problem continued. I disconnected the wire previous owners had spliced to the brake harness, and this fixed the brake light problem. Now, the only problem is the van will stay running for up to 5 seconds after I turn the key off and remove it from the slot.

If that dosnt match with your vehicle try this tip, 1st always find your speaker wires first,Since this is the most tedious part, its better to get those out of the way, 2nd thing Disconnect the battery of the vehicle so you don't blow fuses for the head unit, 3rd, strip back all of the wires that are available to you. Its better to grab the all together and cut them all an equal length to make it neat. 4th
Once you have all your wires stripped back - Grab any single wire. Hold it against a terminal on the battery and one by one go through and tap every other wire against the other terminal of the battery until you hear a "pop". When you hear a speaker popping, you have correctly identified the wires that run directly to it. If on the first attempt at popping a speaker you don't find one, pick up another wire and repeat the process. They will eventually come, and the more you identify, the fewer wires you have to mess with, You will need these Items,You'll need some wire strippers, a digital multimeter, electrical tape,9 volt battery

You can buy a haynes manual to remove it but most manals won't have that information, why do you want to change it and if you have a camera I can tell you how to remove and replace it if I have a picture of it.

That would be an aftermarket installation and would have to be brought to the shop that installs and services that brand.

My car alarm will not reset and the issue with problems below

If you (hopefully) have the key fob (keyless entry remote), try closing the doors, then lock and unlock using the keyless entry. This should reset the security so the vehicle will start.

Power lock cd/radio keyless entry not working

There aren't any fuses or relays for your problem, it must be taken to the dealer or other shop that has the special tool to do it to be reprogrammed. It's not a tool you want to purchase for casual use, it's called a "DRB III" and costs around $8,000. I have the directions to do it if you would still like them let me know.

oh we have a 02 C T & C and our keyless entry for the sliding doors. when the side doors are not closed all the way or opened all the way the keyless entry won't kick in. try doing it closed or fully open, if this does not work try checking the battery in the remote. over all lets put it this way the 02 C T & C is like the best mini van around however it comes with alot of problems from ac. to tail lights

2006 Chevy Equinox

Hiya...the factory-installed keyless remote control are installed in most Equinoxes IF SO equipped with this option that year.
However, it's difficult to get "true factory-installed" keyless feature in your Equinox ....but new 2008-2009 Equinoxes built this year now comes with standard keyless remote and yes, new option is remote STARTER feature (that option is identified by a black wire found inside the rear-right quarter window with thin metal line surrounding that interior window to receive signal from remote starter fob)

At least you can find after-market keyless remote control at your local retail store.
