How to fix oil from getting in the spark plug chamber

Is this oil in the plug wells or the cylinder?

Are the spark plugs under the top of the motor on my lincpln ls, and if so will i need a gasket to put back on when i change them

the coils act as the gasket but the valve covers can leak oil into the chamber for the sparkplugs and give driveability problems. there are gaskets for the valve covers that can correct this if you have oil in there. yes thye sparkplugs are in those recesses

Excessive carbon on spark plugs which causes to fail

carbon on sparkplugs are caused by oil in the combustion chamber.

here are some things to do:
1. replace the sparkplug
2. replace your head gasket
3. check if your ignition timing is correct (timing in the distributor, camshaft, and crankshaft)

if these does not solve your problem, try this:
1. have your cylinder head checked for leaks/cracks
2. replace your piston rings

lastly, if all of these dont work, this is the solution (but quite pricey)
1. have your head rebored. reboring the cylinder head means making your combustion chamber wider so cracks/leaks on the wall will be removed.
2. after rebore.. you have 2 options: resleeve or replace piston rings. Resleeve means inserting sleeves in the bored chamber to replace the removed part. replacing pistong rings is also an alternative since your old one will not fit anymore ot the rebored head.

The spark plugs are in oil should that be like that

No it shouldnt!! If you have no noticable smoke out of the exhaust, more than likely your sparkplug chamber seals on the valvecovers are leaking. This is typical on these engines. I recommend having the valvecover gaskets and sparkplug seals to be replaced along with a full tune-up!!Hopefully this helps...please rate.....thanks

I have an oil leak in a spark plug chamber how do is fix it

depends where the oil came from.of it has leaked down from a valve cover gasket, that is not hard to fix.if it a leaking valve seal that is expensive and if the head gasket is leaking, expensive.look at the outside edge of the valve cover, and check the edge for oil.if there is alot of oil,by the time the plug is unscrewed oil can go inside.the oil would burn off,so if there is oil inside it is dripping down probably from a valve seal.take off the valve cover and inspect the seals they are probably no good.there are 2 seal sets, one is in the valve cover, and that results in oil on the outside of the plug, and the actual valve seal which results in oil in the inside of the engine.

Oil leaking into sparkplug chamber

thread dammaged in head causing spark pug to come loose can fit heli coil to fix thread in head so spark plug wont come loose and leak oil into tube. other places oil can come from to cover plug in oil
remove rocker cover then remove spark plug tube they are screwed into head and clean thread of tube and apply sealant loctite to thread refit to head and may pay to replace seal for top of spark plug tube that is in rocker cover
one of these or both can leak, if tube is tight in head it may not be leaking the top seal is

Excel 1.3 looks like it´s burning oil.-

first of all change spark plugs to the standards of the car ,, maybe you have bad spark plugs .. does your car have a white smoke in exhaust ? if so then its something has to be replaced inside 2 and 3 cyclinders thats an advanced failure
if you have no smoke in exhaust check top oil gasket .. when did you change it ?
