Suspension problems are always a safety issue, because they affect your ability to control the car. However, the type and degree of the problem is always a factor. Do you know what specifically is wrong with the suspension and how bad it is? You may want to see if you can get a free inspection at an alignment shop, then report back to FixYa on what they tell you.

2007 ford sport trac at high speeds it feels like my front end is walking all over the road but no shimmy in my steering wheel and goes straight tires look ok rotated tires problem still there.

could be from worn tie rod ends, suspension ball joints , worn suspension rubbers and failing shock absorbers
take it to an accredited suspension service center for a complete check including the rear end as the front floating sensation could be from a problem rear end suspension set up and shock absorbers
I am well aware that every tire shop says rotate tires but in reality you just move a problem tire from one corner to the other, fail to see a wear problem develop in the tires ( indicates alignment or tire case problem) and costs 4 tires at a time instead of 2 which is not really economical as well
consider this front drive cars wear out front tires at the rate of 3 to rear tires 1 and I think you get the picture (rear drive cars rear tires 2 to front 1) or if there is a case problem with a tire it is lost in the rotation process and becomes dangerous on the road

What makes a clunk in steering when turning ?

It's a suspension issue in your front wheels or a worn out motor/transmission mount. Les Schwab does a free suspension check and they can better diagnose exactly what your vehicle needs to ride the way it should. If I have a suspension issue I go to them to pinpoint the issue then fix it myself

Can the front suspension problem be due to the compressor

If the rear suspension is not affected its probably a leak or a front height sensor.

Impala rear suspension problem

Could one shock be bad? Causing a difference in bounce return rate? I would crawl under suspended car and check all suspension bolts. Are your bushings in good shape? If one is chewed up or missing then this would cause that misalignement. What kind of suspension do you have? Solid axle or independent susp? I don't know if your car is front or rear wheel drive. I'm guessing front wheel drive.

Troubleshooting Suspension failure 2000 Lincoln Navigator

I have owned several air suspension vehicles. My Expedition was similar to yours. You may want to try the 4x4 switch because it will raise the body 1-2 inches higher. Checking its fuse would not hurt.

On most of my vehicles the suspension would work end to end, raising the front first. You could have 2 issues with the suspension. There should be valving to switch the air to the rear suspension after the front is up. I would wait longer for the rear to catch up.

If I had to guess why the front lifts first it would be to get the front off of the curbs and sidewalks when you park so the bottom doesn't drag.

There is a diagnostic plug for the air suspension and sometimes Autozone or Oreillys have the scanner for that special plug. If not, some alignment shops and all dealers would have it. Also Ford parts are often the same as Lincoln and cheaper., Someone may make aftermarket parts at a better price.
