You will have to replace the PCM and it will have to be reprogrammed or your vehicle will not start. You will need to take your vehicle into the dealer and they will replace the PCM and program it in the vehicle.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have 2004 gmc envoy xl 5.3 engine the code po753 is showing up

You are starting to have a transmission problem. I know....the Envoy runs fine....well, this code is telling you that there is a beginning of a problem with your transmission system. It could be a wire, could be a rock that was ran over flicked up under there and possible damaged something.....
Bottom line, there is a an issue developing. Suggestion? Check with AAMCO...it is free and they can give you an idea what the seriousness is.
Trouble Code: P0753 (5.3L V8 VIN P Auto)
A/T 1-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Malfunction (4L60-E, 4L65-E)
Trouble Code Conditions:
Engine runtime over 5 seconds, system voltage at 10-18v, engine not in Fuel Cutoff mode, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the A/T 1-2 Shift solenoid circuit.
Possible Causes:
  • 1-2 shift solenoid connector is damaged, loose or shorted
  • 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit is shorted to system power
  • 1-2 shift solenoid is damaged or has failed
  • PCM has failed

My 06 envoy denali xl shuts off while im driving it... what is the problem? ive changed the throttle body, ignition switch, and the crank position sensor. still hasnt fixed it

Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drivetrain is fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)

We have 5 codes, po141,po172,po606,po014,po016 on a 2004 gmc envoy xuv. Can you help.

Here is a brief description of the codes;
P0141 - rear O2 sensor
P0172 - system too rich
P0606 - PCM internal failure
P0014 - Camshaft phasing off
P0016 - Camshaft position and crankshaft position off

This going to require a qualified technician to diagnose. The PCM issue may require a reflash of its memory or a replacement.
The other codes could be related to each other. One suspect item is the camshaft position actuator, sometimes it gets clogged with oil and make it fail.

PO606 in 2004 GMC envoy what does this mean

PCM Processor Fault. A couple of things, check the wiring around the PCM, check for frays in the wiring. There is a Technical Service Bulletin for this problem also, where your pcm would need to be re-flashed (computer update) by the dealer, I believe it's around $100 to do this.

You can also try to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so to reset the computer. Some people have just cleared the code by doing this (or with a code reader) and the code never showed back up again.

How do you reset the idiot light and the % within the computer on a 2002 gmc envoy?

The stored codes in the computer need to be cleared from the computers memory before the Idiot light will go out and stay out. However if the repairs are not don first the light will come back on anyway, In other words the computer will command the light to come back on untill all repairs pertaning to the strored codes are compleated, correctly, and the codes have been cleared. Most Automotive Parts Stores will scan your computer and give you the codes that they find and will also clear the coder after repairs are made and they offer this service for Free.Good Luck and Happy New Year. I have a 2002 GMC Envoy and the cruise control not working now. Worked before

Most times when this happens with Envoys and Trailblazers, your PCM or computer is storing a check engine code, which will disable cruise control. Scan your vehicle with an OBDII scanner to see what code may be stored. Once the code is cleared, your cruise control will work again.

I have a 2004 GMS Envoy xl that is putting out the codes P0136 (twice) and then P0606. What do they mean?

P0136 - O2 sensor malfunction, Bank 1 sensor 2." Drivers side exhaust down pipe after the Catalytic converter O2 sensor needs to be replaced."

P0606 - Control Module Internal Performance " Internal PCM failure." Replace the PCM.
For Electronic Throttle Control applications, an internal PCM failure, or an ETC system FMEM condition exists. Repairing the other DTCs can fix the P0606.

Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted. Be glad to know you got your GMC running 100% again.

You need to find a shop with a Tech 2 scanner. The pcm has to be recalibrated because when the fan clutch goes bad it back feeds into the computer and stores a hard code. And because the 02 is the first year for this style envoy its a pos! And these A**Holes from GM thought it was a good idea to have a electronic throttle body and gas peddle.

So in a nutshell it needs to have a PCM.AZ UPDATE AND YOUR DONE! SELL IT AND BUY SOMETHING YOU CAN FIX IN YOUR BACKYARD ON THE WEEKEND!
