Question about 2004 GMC Envoy
You will have to replace the PCM and it will have to be reprogrammed or your vehicle will not start.You will need to take your vehicle into the dealer and they will replace the PCM and program it in the vehicle.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The engine and transmission in this cars drivetrain is fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)
