Hello cafolsims195: My name is Roger and I will answer your question. The head light lamp is a sealed unit. There is no way to open the com posit lamp and clean it. There are people who can polish the outer lens. This will help clean the lens for a while but they will fade again. The dull tarnished film will develop on all head lamp lenses. You can either find a shop tho polish the lenses on your vehicle or purchase new ones and have them installed. Short term having them polished is cheaper. But they will still be some what dull. This will however vastly improve the light brightness at night. Should you need more help please just ask. Please rate the information furnished. This will tell me is was useful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Clean inside housing headlight

Chances are, it's pitting on the outside of the lense, not the inside. The inside probably is clean UNLESS, the rubber boot covering the holes is missing. You'd have to pull the headlight out and off the truck and try and clean through the holes the bulbs go into.

Remove headlight cover

The headlight cover is not really a is the assembly which needs to be removed completely from the car to access the bulb hole that is the only access to the interior surfaces of the assembly. Lots of screws and awkward positions to get it out. Best bet, leave it alone or pull the bulb socket and use very long q-tips to clean out moisture!

Can the factory headlight lens covers on a 2001 Mercury Cougar be removed and cleaned ? I can remove the entire healight assembly and change the bulbs, but the inside of the healight cover is dirty and...

The lincoln LS had the same problems, and the lens was held to the headlight assembly with a sticky glue.
To remove them, some guys were successful by warming the headlight assembly in the oven untill the glue softened up enough to be pulled apart.
Be careful if you try this, to much head and..oops I melted my headlight

My front headlight covers are cloudy. I need to clean them on the inside or replace them. How do I remove them?

Those are a sealed unit. usually once you open them up they won't reseal well and you will replace cloudiness for moisture build up. Most common to replace the whole headlight assembly as a unit. Ebay motors is a good place to find inexpensive headlight assemblies.

1999 ford taurus with moisture in the headlights

Most headlights lens are sealed up to prevent this problem. A broken seal or a crack somewhere opened up to let in moisture.
You can drill a small hole on the lowest part of the plastic headlight housing to let the water drain out. Or, replace the plastic headlight assembly with a new sealed one.The plastic headlights turn yellow and cloud up over time (not because of moisture inside, because it's plastic getting ruined by the weather and the sun). This problem reduces headlights from putting more light on the road.
The only thing you can do with moisture inside the headlights is to drain out the water that builds up. The seals on the headlights are bad right now and are going to keep letting moisture in. I would replace the both headlight assemblies for new sealed, clear ones.

How can i remove the corolla 2004's headlight cover to clean them from inside?

You have to heat the original sealant using a blower/hair dryer and slowly pull the cover from the base of the headlight. After you clean the glass then you have to seal it again.

Change headlights and clean inside the lens

you cant really get inside of the lenses because they are glued together and usually break when you try to disassemble them. the lights should just turn slightly to the left and pull right out no special tools required.
