Hello, Just because the dash lights come on, isn't a good indicator of battery condition. The battery could have a bad cell. The battery cables where the attached to the battery could be corroded, if so they need to be cleaned with baking soda mixed with water. It could be a failed battery. You need to check each item. Does the instrument panel have any message stating car will not start, remove key for 3 minutes? There are many things that could cause your problem

Something is draining my battery on my 1998 Cadillac DeVille

I suspect parasitic draw. All vehicles draw some power from the batteries when the car is shut off. Certain accessories such as clocks, radios remote door openers and alarms always need power. The normal power used is called parasitic draw.

It is always a very low draw so it doesn't run the battery down. If you install accessories like shortwave radios or plug things like inverters and portable refrigerators into the accessory socket and operate them too long without the engine running you can drain your batteries to the point where the engine won't start. If there is an electrical short in the vehicle or a malfunctioning accessory it could be drawing much more than its normal load causing a drain on the batteries. If you leave your door open and the inside lights stay on all night you could drain the battery down till the car won't start.

Here's also a good resource for your car specifically on narrowing down the cause of the drain.

All lights work.battery tested good.has new starter.and still won t even kick over.and wont take a jump.

Could be a fuel problem, maybe the engine isnt getting enough fuel. but i would check your spark plugs and replace them or re gap them. Also make sure that the batery cables are on good.

2001 cadillac sedan deville will not start

Check the connections at the battery for shiny and clean appearance when disconnected from the battery.

Charge the battery and replace if necessary as determined by a load test at your local Walmart, Sears, or auto parts store.

I had some dirty terminals on my 1997 Cadillac Deville Limousine that caused a no start condition just the other day.

Sounds like the battery is weak or the alternator isn't providing enough amps to keep the engine running and power the lights at the same time.

92 cadillac deville that will not start.

It sounds like your batery is empty.
Or maybe your start rotor is a bit stuck.
if so give it a hit with a rubber hammer that can help loosen it.
