More
than likely, the sonic sensor has too much sensitivity, and some low
level vibrations, such as exhaust noise from nearby cars/ trucks,
thunder OR animals going under the car, might set it off. If you have
the PRESTIGE alarm, the alarm box on the left kicker panel, has an
adjusting screw for the sensitivity. If other brand, it probably has a
way to adjust it as well. If it was a problem with doors/ trunk sensor,
it would set off as soon as the alarm is armed, so i dont think this is
your case.
ask your neighbor not to start his harley that close to your car....
j/k
if you have a motion sensor, it maybe way to sensitive. sometimes you can just adjust that turning a knob or a bolt a few degrees to either side. some other times, you just have to follow some special instructions. check your manual for alarm sensitivity adjustments.
I wouldn't suggest trying to adjust the sensitivity yourself. I think the best bet is to call up either your local toyota dealer or car alarm specialist. My guess is that one of the two will do it for free.
The shock sensor needs to be adjusted. Its too sensitive. There is small box mounted next to the alarm(brain/box) it has a small flat head screw on it, turn clockwise to increase sensitivity and counter clockwise to decrease. Good Luck
