RAQ AM/FM stereo radio with six-disc by Mopar

I recently bought a used 2001 PT Cruiser Limited with a Mopar RAQ AM/FM stereo radio with six-disc. I had to order the six-disc cassette, which was missing. When I turn on the player it shows the cd is playing in the hand held remote, although the radio stays on instead. I have tried holding the tape/cd button and reconnecting all the wires. Nothing looks broken and the two fuses I found are fine. Any ideas why my stereo doesn't recognize the cd player is on?

I troubleshooted this problem all day. I held buttons, checked wire connections, talked to dealerships, and Techs.

Coming home I decided to hold the power button on the hand held remote. An option of frequency popped up on the screen. I selected a frequency and changed my radio to it. Once I placed a CD it began to play. Whooohooo!

To some this may seem an obvious solution, although I could not get this answer anywhere. The oldest manual I could look at for free was for 2004 models. I am happy it only cost me all day and $42.22 for the cassette. ;)

Hold the power button on the remote, then select a frequency. It would already be assigned to a frequency, but you can change it slightly.

SOURCE: fog lights came on; can't turn them off

1.At first take out the foglight's fuse before you battery is dead. (Fog lights stays "ON" even you leave the car).

2.You must replace the Multifunction control switch =(

Here is the photo of problem:
http://www.ptcruiser.fi/ptgalleria/albums/userpics/10010/normal_sumuvalokytkin.jpg

Fog lights are connected to pin 13,14.
Fog light switch is "B". Because the current is many Amps, contact surfaces are heating up.
After that the contact opening "C" is melting (made of plastic) so the fog light stays "ON".

Do use anything but Mopar 100,000 or Zerex g05. As for manual> Sorry not good with links. Go to Chrysler's main website. On the website find TechAuthority, FREE downloads of manuals 2004 to 2010.

Can't get navigation and cd player to work

You can purchase the manual from the dealer. You need the disc for the nav system to program it. Another is you may need to have a code to operate the nav. Did you press the mode button to go from radio to cd? Try to detach the negative battery or press the reset button to factory default, this will bring you back to the factory settings. It looks like a small hole on the radio face. You must use a fine point to push it in and reset it. Is a cd stuck inside of the cd slot? Do all your trouble shooting first and you will find your answer......runjoe

Removal of dash and factory stereo

This is an easy fix. Use a flat head screwdriver andpry out the center stack where the heating and air controls are. this will just pop out. From there there are a few screws to to remove to get the cover off around the stereo.
