My 92 f250 7.3 is next to impossible to start at temps below about 70*F, and at freezing I have to use starting fluid to start it. Any ideas on what is wrong? Does it have a choke?

I wonder if the fluid level is a little low. As it warms up it expands a little, and when you shut it off and start again, the level is up because it's still warm. System resets and all is good until next time.
Or maybe there is an electrical issue. I say this because it's intermittent.

I am thinking that the coolant froze in the block and now you have major problems in the engine . Have a compression test done to check for head gasket and cracks

IT IS HARD TO SAY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, 1ST YOU REPAIR ANY SHIFT LIKAGE ISSUES THEN YOU MOVE ON TO THE TRANS IF THE PROBLEM STILL ISN'T CURED, THE 92 LINKAGE WILL NOT WORK.

u need to pressure test fuel line......sounds like either fuel pump or injectors

Just an idea, but I think that you are onto something with the temperature sensor. If overheating was the cause of the head gasket to go, then I would imagine it would've fried the temperature sensor also. That would make it nearly impossible to start. The sensor should be fairly cheap enough to replace. Probably wouldn't even through out a code. My Mother-in-Law had the same problem with her Saturn, changed the temp. sensor and BINGO. No more problem. You just have to make sure you get the computer temperature sensor, not the fan temp. sensor. There are 2 of them suckers. Believe it or not. Hope this can help "with your idea". its you ecu, they talk about this problem on ebay and they will even let you return it if that's not the problem... but something ecu go bad and make the car do that

i think mostly its hard to start because its a 92 eagle talon.. might be time to put 'er down.. ;)

Try changing the fuel filter, water trapped in it can freeze. Its a 92 and probably time for a fuel pump. They don't like water either.(Meythonol Fuel) Always change fuel filter when adding antifreeze to fuel

it might be because the oil is too thick to do its job or you fluids (gas,oil,coolant hopefully not) are freezing try putting a work light under your hood at night and see if the car starts in the mornings. Depending on how cold it gets a worklight used to work for me up near flagstaff az,
