I would take a voltmeter and check the idle air control motor make sure it is functioning sounds like it is dirty or malfunctioning try cleaning it it is dead smack right in the middle of your motor on top between the black tubes huge sorry cant think there name also use carb cleaner spray to clean it and shoot some in the throttle body may be dirty and will clean injectors any these can mess up idle but this should tell you where to start but the iac motor is high possabilty all does con trols idle

84 mustang 5.0 auto-Idle problems. runs Ok when cold , runs rough and stalls when warm. 1st year throttle body injection. was told the IAC valve needs cleaned. can`t find on car

the iac sensor is along the side of throttle body , did you give the throttle plate area a good cleaning out this is where the air path is for the IAC sensor , a lot of idle problems have been fixed with a can of throttle body cleaner and few good squirts of the stuff down the hole

What causes engine miss at idle under load?

I'm not sure what you mean by "under load", maybe with a/c on, etc. Also is it really an engine misfire or a rough idle. If it really is a misfire, a scantool at your local parts store should be able to read a code for that. Sometimes a rough idle could be due to just a cracked or disconnected vacuum hose or dirty throttle body. You didn't say whether it runs ok at highway speeds. Sometimes a rough idle can be cleared up a lot with throttle body service or injector flush. Sorry, this is the best I can do with information provided.

Rough idle, rough in drive

Is the check engine light on ?
Have you checked the computer for trouble codes ?
You could have one bad spark plug even with only 30k on it.
Problem could also be a dirty injector.

Rough engine idle

you don`t say if you have checked anything so start with the plugs for condition and age as well as plug gap.then the ignition wires they may need changing.the engine compression can affect idle and give the impression its alright at higher speeds.fuel injectors if they are dirty can cause rough idle and run okay at higher speeds.just somethings to check

1989 toyota camry 232000miles Runs rough at idle

YOUR problem is the carby acc pump and idle jet ...... what you need to do is remove airfilter and take the top off the carby and you should see a small ball and spring under gasket ...when you open the throttle it will pump petrol to the small pick up jet and the other jet will take over ...clean out carby jets and rebuild and that should be ok
