My 2003 dodge truck 1500 model, Security alarm light is blinking, and the truck will not start or do anything.

Sounds like your battery is dead. Try getting a boost from somebody.

Try leaving the key in on for 10-15 minutes. If the blinking theft light stops blinking and goes out, it has reset. Turn key to off, and then try to start it.

If your security light is flashing the alarm is active you need to deactivate it

Reset switch locater on pos cable link in black box located on firewall drivers side. most people remove these sometimes. sometimes they can be located in fuse box. if you have alarm remote try reseting it by removeing batter in remote then reinstall or replace

The factory security light should not flash. Put the key in the dash and turn it forward like your going to start it but do not crank. Let the truck sit with the key on until the light stops flashing. It usually takes anywhere between 20-45 mins for this to happen so just be patient with it. Once the light stops flashing try to start it. Alot of times the key sensor on the ignition switch goes bad and will kick the security feature on in the truck. ((On a side note if you have a remote start installed on the truck they use a bypass for the factory security the sometimes will fluke out.))

most vehicle alarms, or security can be restet by closing all doors, go to the passengers door, lock and unlock it with the key a couple of time, do the same thing with the drivers side. that should turn off the security.. hope this helps

Does your key have a chip on it? If it does its probably the problem

sometimes turning the ignition on 3 times quickly without starting will reset the computer. If the van has power locks and keyless entry then try using only the keyless entry. Sometimes your car wont have a alarm but an anti theft device which will not allow it to start if it goes off or something triggers it.

Your ignition key has a bad chip if you have a spare, use it if not you will need a new key

When you disconnected the battery, you tripped the alarm which locked down everything. In your owners manual, look under the security or alarm system. It will tell you how to disarm your particular alarm system. If I am not mistaken on these you put the key in the drivers door and lock and unlock it 2-3 times. If you do not have the owners manual, you can contact dodge and they will walk you through it.
