I was wondering if you made sure that the gap on the plugs was correct for your vehicle it is different from car to car. I had that same problem of course mine was doing that right off the bat. so you never know. but again another possibility to check.

the problem you describe indicates a air/fuel ratio problem so I would be looking at any hoses that may have perished, MAP/MAF sensors and coil problems. If it is possible then get a fault code reading as it will save money from "guess" repairing

2000 gmc truck spits and sputter when exceleratoring

what have you done so far ? tune it up ! replace air & fuel filters, spark plug wires & plugs, distributor cap , rotor , ignition module @ distributor, also replace theEGR valve , its garbage right now ! you will see when you take it off ! when replacing the ignition module, apply some silicone lubricant on the distributor base, under where the module is mounted, it will help to protect it from over-heating ! important ! check all VACUUM LINES, tighten throttlebody bolts to intake manifold ! changed your oil / filter lately ?

1995 dodge dakota v6 will not start began to run rough spit sputter. replaced cam sensor no change .tried changing ign coil no change. checked pwr to coil at plugin no pwr used a voltage meter checked...

If you have no power to the coil with key on, it might be the crank sensor. The spit and sputter ckould be a fuel problem, but if you have no spark now, check the crank sensor.

Internal combustion engines requires 3 things... fuel, air, and spark. You do not have enough of one or more of these. If the wires and plugs are old, change them.  Air filter, same thing.  Fuel filter can also clog up with stuff after awhile. When you take a look at the air filter check where the air comes from.  It is possible a little critter has built a home and blocked the air flow (rare, but, it has happened).
