Check battery, fuel, spark. If you have all 3 items then you need to check starter. Also check the transponder in your key ....make sure it is working and communicating with cars computer or it will never crank. Without more information on the subject this is a vague answer

My 2007 Lexus GX470 has problems starting, and supposedly it is linked to the gas cap. When I crank it up, the key pulls and it keeps cranking. I have to force it back to the start position. The first...

ok , the cap fuel is not the problem , i think the problem is in key switch, try with spare or second key, .

revise primero que la llave este en buenas condiciones, pruebe con una de las copias, segun lei el problema esta en el cilindro de la llave, con la tapa de combustible mala lo unico que hace es encender la luz de check pero no impide funcionamiento eso es falso , suerte !!!!

Problem starting after fill with gas

no year?
this car is a Daewoo car, in Suzuki snake clothing. it is. and are trouble cars.
correlation is not always cause. (its way more complex)
Im answering for Cranks robustly but will not start. RIGHT?
does car start with gas cap removed or loose.?
NO, then its not the cap, PERIOD.
the cap will fail not at fill ups, as that makes you remove it
this breaks the seal and with the wrong cap lets in the air.
and car start. the wrong cap with no vacuum breaker
causes lost power and stalls driving. (lost fuel pressure)

so why try to guess. why not do the simple tests. done now for 100 years. on all engines (spark , otto cycle engines)
1: check for spark. ????
2: check for flooding or lost fueling.
fueling:
spark tips (yes, remove and look) are soaked in fuel dripping
yup , flooded,
to unflood it crank with throttle wide open, called WOT. this cuts fuel
and flooded cars starts, (operators guide tells this......)
if spark tips dry, then its starving for fuel
so add some. ( a test)

this page works for most cars made,

see what scotty does....... a video presented there

What is the firing order for 1987 Suzuki Samuri and which point do I start on cap?

my guess, dizzy pulled or wires removed, all at once?

1,3,4,2 (crank motor , look to see direction, many books show it wrong, so you look)
the rotor left the factor 1 way, after 20 year's 20 mechanics set it
their way. 1of 4 ways. all 4 work, on some the vac, can hits things. so...

Find TDC #1 firing, (lash loose at #1 , #1 is FRONT) then look at rotor.
bingo #1 is THERE.
first g o o g le hit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17sfS1Cz3gQ

most pages skip this first check. even autozoned does. that.
out of factory #1 was at the clamp bolt, id not assume that.
in fact i never do, on any dizzy car made. (cept, slotted dizzy drives)
this car is gear drive and can be time wrong.

here , this post gets it right, cept the Haynes, is a bad book. IMO

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_set_the_timing_1988_suzuki_1.3

one way to find TDC #1 front firing, is the wad of paper trick
1; SPARK PLUG 1 OUT. KEYS, IN POCKET !
stuff small wad of paper or a cotton ball (wife) in to spark hole 1.
key off , turn crank by hand CW (clock wise) see wad blow out.
this is the Compression stroke. keep turning crank cw until the Crank
TDC mark hits 0 (firing)
the rotor brass tip , now points to #1 REAL.
if valve cover off, you do same until both valve #1 are loose, lash.
if lash is sat wrong, you burn the valves up so no excuse for
#1 valves never loose. (hint , fix that first. do the 60,000 service now)

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST CAME ON TODAY AND I DONT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. IT STILL STARTS AND NO OTHER LIGHTS ARE ON. i HAVE ALREADY HAD CRANK SHAFT SENSOR REPLACED IN JANUARY.

Stop at one of the big autoparts stores like Pep Boys, or autozone, and have them scan for fault codes for free. Write them down & get back to us for advice/cure.

SINGLE MOM CAR WONT START!!!I DON"T HAVE TIME 4 THIS!!!!

so you turn the key and the starter does nothing... i would suggest that you attempt to start it while someone hits the starter with a hammer... not that gently but don't break the starter either.

If it suddenly turns over you need a new starter. and right away because using a hammer only works a few times.

Incidentally it was minus 20 here last nite lol
