No, it's buried under the throttle body, very tricky to get at and difficult to remove all the bolts that hold everything in the way.

Replace thermostat in a 1997 Dodge Intrepid

The thermostat is an easy replacement. The part from the part store should be very inexpensive and is very easy to install. IMPORTANT: allow the cars cooling system to completely cool down before starting to work on it. Here are the steps to replace the thermostat:

1. Allow car to cool.
2. Place drain pan under radiator and allow for coolant to drain below the thermostat. Do not completely drain the system unless replacing the fluid.
3. Remove the hose clamp and hose from thermostat housing.
4. Remove the two bolts holding the housing to engine.
5. Remove the thermostat gasket and clean the gasket completely off the engine and thermostat housing.
6. Remove the thermostat and replace with new.
7. Place new gasket on with reassembly.

1998 Ford Taurus - thermostat - easy change? where is it?

Hi, welcome to FixYa! My name is Shaun. To answer your question, a thermostat is a very easy change. Follow your upper radiator hose into your motor. Where the hose joins the top of the block, you will see an elbow of sorts, held in place by a couple of bolts. This is your thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing and the old thermostat, and replace with the new thermostat, paying close attention to the orientation of the thermostat you removed. If installed backwards, the thermostat will not operate. With the new thermostat installed, apply a thin coat of blue RTV silicone sealant to each side of the new gasket, seat the gasket over the thermostat, and reinstall the thermostat housing. Replace ant lost coolant, and if nesessary, burp the system to release any trapped air to prevent overheating. That's it, you're done! The whole process should take less than 30 minutes. Hope this helps! Have a good day!

Thermostat replacement how easy is it on a 1998 cadillac deville 4.6l sfi dohc 8 cyl

Thermostat replacement is relatively easy for an experienced technician. However, it's harder than a 2 bolt change found on older classic cars.

It is located in a thermostat housing on the left side of the engine.

Look to see if you can do this one.
