I have a 2005 Nissan Note and Im having problems putting it into gear after its been off in park overnight. It took ages to get it out of park and into reverse. I couldnt find Nissan Note on your list.

NOT TOLD IS , IS REVERSE DEAD in PRNDL .L DEAD, R DEAD, AND NEUTRAL FREE ROLLS THE CAR (HAND PUSHED) AND DOES PARK LOCK UP AND CAR CAN NOT ROLL
IF R AND P AND n FAIL THE SHIFT LEVER IS BAD OR ITS CABLE
Check fuses
scan the PCM/TCM for tranny errors DTC's codes.
do the pump pressure test the service manual.

Is the fluid full?
Check the wires to the transmission to make sure they are not damaged.
Is the engine Light on? have you scanned for codes?

There is no magic fix for cars / trucks, I need as much info as possable

Is the check engine light on? Could be several things. TPS or Idle selonoid. A bad battery could also cause your problem.

the shifting linkage needs adjusted

absolutely. every maker like honda, nissan , toyota, have there specific tranny fluid to use because it does not over heat the tranny. dexron lll will hurt any japanese cars. i would check to which fluid they used and check with the dealer for the proper spec of oil.

Just Fixed my yesterday there is a spring attached to a plastic peice inside the gear box that breaks it is common in chryslers I have a 300, I pulled up the center counsel removed the gear box, drilled a hole in the pink cheap plastic peice attached the spring back on with a zip tie and ready to go, Note: chrysler will not sell you the pink peice they will make you buy the whole gear box for over $200 if you want them to install it now your looking at $4-500. took me 2 hours i can probably do it in an hour now hehehe

I FOUND A BUTTON TO UNLOCK I PUSHED THE BUTTON AND THE GEAR SHIFT UNLOCKED I AM HAPPY AND BACK ON THE ROAD THANK FOR TRYING YOUR HARDEST

Took car to dealer and found out it was an electric component called a shift lock controler solenoid which was an extented warranty and it solve the problem .
