Was the black plg the antennae? As far as the wires..... power cord on aftermarket radios are almost ALWAYS red, the ground wire is ALWAYS black. Once those are connected, then you can trial and error the other wires to see which wires go to which speaker (while playing a song on the radio / cd, the wire will tell you which speaker it leads to when - all of a sudden - IT WORKS. Hope this helps. Remember, each speaker has a (+) wire and a (-) wire. If you end up with extra wires after everything works, then.... not sure what you have. (Sorry)

I would suggest you spice the wires back to stock harness by male and female connections and tape over them with black tape then get a stereo install kit that includes a wiring harness ( cost about $20 maybe or less) for the year of truck you have... it will plug right to your stock harness ...never just cut stock stereo wires from stock plug it will be more of a headache than you think trust me I've installed all my own stereo system been there done that... good luck

Sorry i forgot to say i have a 1996 saturn so i need the stereo wiring color code of stock stereo to put in my new stereo

Buy a wiring kit from wal-mart or stereo shop. It will allow you to plug into stock wiring without cutting anything, and have instructions for hooking up your new system. Cheap and easy, plus you can go back to stock should you ever sell the car.

These cars have a factory amp system that will not operate correctly with an aftermarket stereo. You have two choices. You can either run new wires to the speakers your self which would bypass the factory amp. Or you can order the premium sound system Interface here http://www.myinstallkit.com/FORD/1990%20(90)%20FORD%20THUNDERBIRD%20Radio%20-%20Stereo%20Installation%20Kit.htm scroll about half way down the page.

My factory radio went out in my car...so i had a new one put it in. After the guy installed the radio we noticed that my park lights and dash lights werent working. We checked the fuses and they were all...

I really hope that this guy bought a wiring kit to put in the aftermarket radio, because this could be simple. Your stock radio runs the dash and parking lights threw it's display and that needs to be looped with the new radio. On the aftermarket, there is a orange wire that does this. Since the stock wiring is different with every make and model of auto out there, you need to buy the wiring kit that plugs into the car's harness and matches in color to the harness of the new radio. Putting together the orange wires will give you back your lights. If this person cut the orginal plugs off of the car and wired it direct to the car, you may want to see if the plugs can be put back on and the wiring kit installed or you going to be going through a nightmare of figuring out what wire is what on the car side. Those wiring kits that plug into the car and wire up to the radio are cheap and can be bought at Wal Mart for about 20 to 25 dollars. Good luck

Stock Speakers wont work with new stereo plzzzz HELP

U have a Factory audio auxiliary amp in the truck, the radio is just a head unit with a preamp feeding a main amp, that is behind the right rear 1/4 panel trim panel in the cargo area, if your new sound unit has preamp outputs use them, other wise u must wire around the Ford factory amplifier.
