2007 pontiac G5.. the key is stuck in the ignition. Tried to push the button that will relase the transmission but that wouldn't work. all the power to the car is shut off. Dont know what else to try..help???

There is a hole under the steering column right near the ignition switch, if the key gets stuck, stick a pen or something in the hole, you will feel the little lever move and you can remove the key.

Its possible that the park switch is bad making the key stay in the ignition. Its a safety switch that will not let the key come out unless its in park. The switch will sometimes get stuck causing problems. I have also seen some issues with a bad battery not letting the key be released from the ignition.

its tricky. its behind the engine. If you pop the hood and you go to the left side, look behind the block and it chould be about half way down or so. You should see the cap for it. I think that was a horrible idea on pontiacs part. Happy motoring!
