SOURCE: fuel pump relay location
The 1993 and 1994 XJ6 Fuel Pump Relay is located in the trunk of the vehicle on the right hand rear side. It is light blue and black in color.
I hope this helps.

the fuel pump has nothing to do with the oil.your oil sending unit could be bad causing the poblem you describe but not the fuel filter

Check for power at the fuel pump, I've seen these have a bad connection for the fuel pump in a connector behind the left rear taillight. If that connection is good and you have power and ground to the pump when you cycle the key or crank the engine, then replace the pump.
