Question about Mitsubishi Eclipse

1 Answer

I have an 08 eclipse gt with 3000 miles on it. It is automatic. I kicked down the other day to pass a car. About the time I got around the car my motor cut off and would not restart for about 5 minutes. It would start but go dead like it was running out of gas .After about 5 minutes it fired up and ran fine.Got any ideas what happened.

You may have had something obstructing the fuel flow keep a eye an see if it happens again. If your car is that new you should have a warranty take it back to dealer let them worry about it .Dont work on it yourself because you my actually void out the warranty

What will make my transmission not to kick down in a 2001 eclipse 2.4

If it is an automatic, there may be a kick down cable that has broken or out of adjustment. Also I have seen time after time floor mats and carpets preventing pedal from traveling its full potential So I would check the easy ones first.

I have a '06 Eclipse GT V6 with 40K miles on it. I called the Mitsubishi service department to do either 30K or 60K scheduled maintenance. They have marked down on the quote sheet for automatic...

You need to do the trans fluid and power steering every 30,000 miles on all vehicles. Forget what they say
I used to own a trans shop.
Flush Brake fluid every two years
Coolant every three
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles
Fuel Filter 30,000 miles.

I would stay far away from the dealer
Go to a local shop

Speeds of 60 or above my car feels wobbly.sometimes my throttle cable (?) gets stuck so my car will be at a stop but the engine is still accelerating and lately it's sounds kind of like it puttering w

normally your engine should not cause your car to wobble, however a misfire can cause this to happen, as far as your throttle cable, you need to replace it and check the transmission kick down cable (co located with throttle cable) replace if necessary. The jerking when shifting is probably due to incorrectly adjusted kick down cable, when adjusted correctly the transmission with shift smooth. Hope this helps, let me know

Chk Eng lite,Gas odor,some days no strt,bux@redlights

The gas odor indicates a leak in the fuel system, probably the gas line. This would cause fuel delivery problems and stalling. It may also be the reason the check engine light comes on.

Have the fuel lines checked and replaced if need be
