Are you sure its the brakes or is it your wheel from not tightening the lugs enough. Sounds dumb but it happens. Get back to me.

Knocking or grinding usually means you snapped or streched a spring during installation or maybe it just poped off hopefully this helps

2001 dodge caravan rear brake knocking when applying brakes

Sounds like you need some brake service. I would take your pads off and check them replace if necessary, check rotors and replace if needed, check calipers and replace if needed. If this is a drum set check shoes, and drum, and wheel cylinders. Bleed system.

2006 dodge caravan with rear draum brakes. Broken wheel stud on right rear wheel. Got the drum off, got the broken stud off. but i cant get the new stud in. not enough space to get the new stud in. Is...

Make sure all tires are chalked, put vehicle in neutral, turn drum till it has a clear spot to knock stud out,use hammer and wooden block, don't use metal punch, can cause burr on end of stud and not want to come out of hole. Both tires on back may need lifted in air to turn.

New rear suspension and they make noise

Caravans had a real issue with rear suspension noises, and one of the suggestions from Dodge was the addition of a spacer washer at the bottom shock mount to space it a little farther away from the axle housing. I have seen many new shocks that "knocked" right out of the box new. It is possible one of the new ones is defective

How do I remove the hub to replace the brakes

I am thinking you mean the rear brakes? On the front you do not need to take the hub off. The rear has a drum if you are lucky you can keep tapping it with a hammer while pulling on it from side to side and work it off the brake shoes. If not there should be a little indented place about .3" wide and 1-1.2" long that can be broke out of either the drum or the backing plate. This changes from vehicle to vehicle. After the tab is broke out you can then get to the adjuster, usually using a screwdriver. You need to back the adjuster down until you can get the drum to slide off. You will find a build-up of rust scale on the drum, that is what keeps it from sliding off. Make sure you knock the scale off, use some sort of dremel tool before putting the drum back on. After you get the drum on adjust you brakes back out using the tab hole that you knocked out. They sell a rubber plug to put back in the hole to keep contaminates out.

Tires wont move cause water in rear drum has rusted them to disc in 02 dodge caravan . help

Just for clarification there are no disk's on a drum brake, so I am assuming you are talking about drum brakes for my explanation.
If I am wrong then let me know.

you can start out by buy a lot of anti sieze, A LOT, cover the one that you are working on with a bag and spray the **** out of it. Spray all around it in every single crevis. You also need a rubber mallet. after spraying it down and allowing it to stay soaking over night then knock the **** out of it with your rubber mallet. just remember you could brake something. So this is not going to be the most pleasurable thing you can do. Once you finally get the drum off the wheal, you need to relplace all of your springs there is a kit you can buy from the part store that has all new springs and WATER PLUGS. Good luck wish there was something else to tell you to do, but this is all that anyone would do. Also please make sure the car is secure and be carefull while hitting the drum, the car can fall and hurt you if your not carefull.
