Question about 1983 Jeep CJ7

I have a 1983 jeep cj7 and am trying to install a manual coolant temperature gauge, but I cannot find the sender's mounting location.

If it's an inline six cylinder the location is in the driver's side, on the engine head by the fire wall.

Check your motor mounts and tranny mount. Your description sounds like physical movement may be causing the issue.

Radio installation without factory wiring harness in 1983 jeep CJ 7. Radio will be installed in secure center center console. I checked under the dash and could not locate a factory harness and not sure...

ok its easy, first see the stereo installation diagram, but i think its have spare wire harness, try to find it. inlay your wire in secured area, dont forget to install fuse in acc and in hot at all time(constant 12V)

Replacing front shackle 1983 jeep cj7

Shackles are pretty straight forward. Remove the existing bolts, change the shackles and reverse the procedure to install. Good idea to change the bushings while you're in there if they are at all questionable. It's best to do this with the CJ in the air, supported on the frame and use a floor jack under the axle to lift/lower the spring in/out of the shackle, one side at a time.
