Question about 2008 Audi A8

2 Answers

When my mobile phone connects with the nav system there is a loud "gong-gong" sound signaling that it is connected. The same sound occurs when the key is removed & the phone disconnects. Is there any to get rid of that irritating sound? My dealer asked Audi Tech Assistance & their answer is no. Help!

The car model was incorrectly posted as an A8.

It is a 2008 Audi TT.

When you say you have never encountered this problem, do you mean no one has complained in the past or other 2008 TT's don't make the sound?

Hello! Unfortunately the Audi Tech is correct...Interconnections are, for the most part, fiber-optic which disallows isolating one signal...

I am sorry. I called the Audi dealer hear in Wichita Ks also. They gave me the same answer. So I would say not. That is not good. I work on Audi a lot. But never have encountered this problem. But I wish there was something that I could do to help you out! Sorry!

The audio system on my 2004 Mercedes clk 320 is muted. How can I reverse this,so that I can hear radio,cd,nav?

There could be several different issues occuring. As with everything electrical, you could try unplugging the battery's negative post, let it sit for 5 minutes, and reconnect it and see if it reboots. This guy on youtube gives and in depth way to trouble shoot the multiple systems which affect audio & could interrupt the signal. It's kinda like old Christmas lights. One 'bulb' goes out, it affects the rest down the chain...

Sat nav and radio not working

Good Afternoon Michael

Sounds most likely to be an antenna issue. Most everything going into the radio needs an antenna to be picked up. Sometimes, a station or two might still be heard above the static if they are local and fairly strong signals.

If you can get normal sound from other inputs, like MP3 players or CDs, then the amp and output parts of the unit are fine, and it's an issue of getting an input signal to use.

If you have the tools, pull the stereo head unit from the dash and make sure the antenna input cable(s) are firmly in place. Likewise, depending on location, you can likely get to the base of the external antenna, where the other end of the cable plugs in, and make sure it's in snugly.

lacking the tools - you can talk to your dealer or a local car audio place. They'll likely have the tools, and a check for antenna cable connection would not likely be too expensive or time-intensive.

Good Luck!

Radio/Nav is malfunctioning; unresponsive, shuts down/reboots, slow to react to inputs

The only thing that you can do is remove the unit and send it out to a factory approved repair shop, that is it no other choices.

It sounds like your antenna is shielded. Some windshields have a tinting made with copper or other metals in them. Perhaps the windshield is blocking the signal.

I have 2004 accord. Sat nav is giving me an alarm system cannot define your car location, please drive for a while. What is this please and how can I solve it

All Sat NAv systems need to be able to "see" a minimum number of satellites in the sky, even something as simple as clouds can and do affect the quality of the received signals, check to see how many satellites your system is locking onto and check to ensure that any external antenna's are correctly connected and powered if required. if all else fails, you may have a logic fault within the Sat Nav unit itself..

Next go to your phones tools or connections settings and look for Bluetooth, enbale Bluetooth, Search Bluetooth Devices/handsfree Your phone will search out the car, once found it will request the 4 digit pin code to be input and ask you to confirm "handfsree" Once confirmed the car will read out connecting...then bluetooth connection successful and the dial pad will appear on the NAV screen
