Question about 1992 Honda Accord

Open Question

1992 Honda Accord LX 4 cyl auto. D4 green light flashes car won't start. No spark from coil, disconnected battery something happened because car started after reconnecting the battery. Car can start several times in a row then will fail and won't start again unless I disconnect battery for a minute. Also, once when it was driven the light flashed and transmission weaken (limp mode I think) Parked car waited 1/2 hour and it restarted. Trouble codes are 14 check IAC, 1 check oxygen sensor, 7 check throttle position senosor and 8 check TDC sensor. Bought used ECU and codes were the same, even after resetting. Car runs smooth and shifts good except when green light flashes. How does these codes relate to not having spark from coil? Just bought car (hope not a lemon) for daughter for college and needs resolved ASAP because school starts soon. Back yard mechnaic will use ohmemeter to troubleshoot sensors 1,7 and 8.

SOURCE: 92 honda accord lx D4 flashes

you have a transmission fault the D4 light blinks to tell you that there is a transmission problem when the light is blinking the transmission computer put the transmission into limp home mode so it will not shift normally and you should try not to drive it very far when it gets to this stage you need to have the transmission codes check to pin point the problem

D4 light flashing

You will have to flash code the TCM (which is on the passenger side floor board) for trouble codes. The TCM will flash the D4 light when it has a stored code.

My d4 light blinks in my 92 accord

What solenoid did you replace? Disconnecting the negative battery cable will reset the flashing light, however, if it goes back on, or fails to reset, you still have an issue to correct with the accord.

Check engine and d4 lights on

d4 is flashing as a trouble code for the automatic transmission... i would say without research that it is a code for a transmission solenoid. maybe while washing the car some water got in and caused a short...these solenoids are usually weatherproof....you could try disconnscting the battery for 30 secs..to clear the trouble code and then start the car. remember you may lose your preset info!

92 honda accord intermittent crank but no start/ tranny issues

I know that early 90's Honda's had problems and in fact a recall on the distributor. Might want to replace the distributor. Inside of the distributor is a part called the igniter which is the ignition module and that is what normally goes out. I cannot remember if you have to replace the whole distributor to get the igniter or if you can just replace the igniter itself. Has been a few years since I have worked on one. hope this helps but if not please contact me. I'm not sure about the drive light flashing thing though, new one on me.
