I have a 2001 Kia Sephia. Up to now it's been a pretty good car. The last couple of days, tho, the heat gauge has started creeping up. I checked radiator fluid and it's fine. Can't find any leaks. The hood of my car gets hotter then usual. I have had a problem with the check engine light - had it checked and it has something to do with the gas tank sensors or the cap. I don't think this is an indicator malfunction. I think there's something wrong. Could it have anything to do with the fan? Could the car use a new belt?

Sounds like there's a leak in your coolant system or the gagues are malfunctioning. My friend has a 2005 Spectra5 and he has been having problems with the check engine light. Apparently it's a software problem that he's waiting for the manufacturer to have a fix for it. My recommendation is to take it into the dealership right away, perhaps even have it towed in just in case it may cause damage to the engine to drive it as is. A suggestion when you have a brand new car, you should not take it on long freeway trips (i.e. do not let the engine set at a fixed engine speed including idle) for more than 10 minutes at a time until you have 500 miles on it to allow it to properly break in first.

My trip odometer show double the distance traveled.

Check your miles by markers on the road. If the trip is double, it is a chip failure. I wouldn't worry about it until the odometer fails. It can be reset.

What time engine oil change

many asian imports recommend oil change intervals of up to 7500 miles, and only changing the oil filter every other oil change. but there are factors that come into play. for instance japan (Toyota, Nissan, etc) is an island, and korea (Kia) is a small peninsula. Not may 2-3 thousand mile cross country road trips. plus mass transportation and highly urban driving makes for shorter driving trips. also, synthetic oils can tolerate more use before the viscosity begins to break down. for USA use the time-honored 3000 miles for oil and filter is more advisable considering the cost of that more regular maintenance versus the cost of potential damage.

Intermitant droning noise from rear wheels mainley motorways/a roads over 60 mph had bearings checked by independant mechanic said they were ok car is an 04 done 43 000 miles

Sometimes tires get noisier as they wear out. Check the tread depth on the tires, see how close it is to the minimum. At 43k miles you're probably gonna need new tires pretty soon anyway.

2007 kia rondo seems to use alot of gas

I have the same issue of low gas mileage. My 2008 Kia Rondo with V6 (2.7Lt) gets 20-21 mpg in average. Even for highway mileage, it is around 21-22mpg. Very poor gas mileage. Disappointed. I hope it would improve in the future.

1999 Chrysler 300M overheating

I am having the same prob. on 04 300m 83,000 mi. I am a chrysler tech and another tech at my shop had the same problem a week ago. Mine started when i Was on the thruway my guage crept up to 3/4 so i kicked the heat on and it went normal. After stopping I found the water pump went and was leaking bad. I replaced the waterpump timing belt and tensioner pulley. thought it was good untill on a long trip. Noticed temp goin up no leaks this time, coolant full. doesnt overheat with heater on. Actuated fans with DRB3 and both work and are working when car says its overheating. Replaced thermostat and bleed system. thought it was ok untill drove 35mi. suspecting bad wiring plugged radiator or coolant temp sensor. Still driving with heat on low to keep from overheating. any others fix this problem yet?
