Question about 2002 Kia Spectra

2 Answers

Heating Hi, My girlfirend has a Kia spectra, when you turn on the heat it comes out fine. But, when you use the dial to select if the air comes out at your feet, face, or on the windshield it will not change, it just stays where it is blowing at the face level. Is this a hard fix? Anyone else have this problem, that can give me an estimate on cost of repairs?

I had a similar problem on my Shuma ll (Spectra) after fitting a radio into the dash. My problem was that I could not adjust the heating level. One of the connectors had partly dislodged during the radio fit and once put back in all was ok. If you haven't had the car from new remove the radio and check the cables before spending money in a garage.

The blower motor is now 8 years old-check if it is burnt out. If not, could be a wiring problem or a blower switch problem.
If you take the blower motor off, test operation with jumper wires from a battery.

2004 kia spectra has blowing air but know heat.

Heat and air conditioning are in separate systems. If you aren't getting heat, the first step is to check your coolant level. Low coolant can result in improper flow through the heater core. If you do have low coolant, be on the lookout for a coolant leak! If your coolant isn't low, then there is going to be an issue with circulation through the heater core. The heater core could be clogged in some way or another.1

A/c problems

This happened to me before a couple of times and it turned out that my husband sat in the passenger seat with his long legs and kicked the rod out of the hole that turns the vent from heat to ac. If you look up under the dash on the passenger side, you will see a gold rod that controls what I would call the damper. If that has come out of the hole that turns the damper from heat to ac, judt put it back in the hole where it belongs and it should start working again. I wish I could ecxplain it clearer. If when you are up under there looking and turn the switch from heat to ac and vice cersa, you should see the rod move, but you won't see it change the damper position.
