1986 Dodge 600 K use Syntehtic Oil?

I have a 1986 Dodge 600 Convertible 2.2L naturally aspirated [NON-TURBO]. Basically a K-Car same thing as a Lebaron or Aries really. The car has 82,000km on it & I use Valoline Conventional 10w-30 in summer & 5w-30 & sometimes Valvoline Maxlife of the same grade but conventional. I change the Oil every 5,000km. Is it ok for the car to use Syntehtic Oil. I've heard some people say that older cars oil leaks through the gasket. Also this car has never had the engine rebuilt it in the original from the factory and I am the 3rd owner within the family.

Switch to synthetic oil and your leaks will stop. I have an 1985 dodge 600 convertible with a 2.6L engine and put synthetic oil in it and the leak has stopped

Sounds like you do a good job on oil changes. Just use a good grade oil. I like castrol. I've been scared of valvoline since they bought out quaker state.

Where do I top up manual transmission oil on a 1986 daihatsu charade turbo g11?

Do you want to top up the engine oil or the transmission oil? The transmission oil plug is on the top side of the transmission. You need to lift up the car to do this. Best thing is to bring it to a service station.

1986 mr2 used up a full tank in 5 days

wow, i love MR2, sell it to me.... lust..... sorry.......
USA Car?????????
its sucking fuel, can be lots of things
got the FSM yet?, keeping a very old car like this going without the big book is near impossible...... really... why work blind>?
you got the 4A non turbo engine>?

1.6 L 4A-GE DOHC I4 (AW11)

wiki (USA)
As a power plant, Toyota chose to use the naturally aspirated 4A-GE 1,587 cc inline-four engine, a dual overhead-cam, four-valve-per-cylinder motor.[5] This engine was also equipped with DENSO electronic port fuel injection and a variable intake geometry ("T-VIS"), giving the engine a maximum power output of 112 hp

first what engine then what fuel injection.
Study the Denso system first, then trouble shoot.
If I had this, car i'd :
1: make brakes perfect.
2: fix all fuel leaks, every inch checked,!!!! top reason for midengine car fires...
3: compression on all cylinders (WOT) 150PSI or more.
4: full tune up with all fluids. really !
5: i'd then check all the EFI sensors and have the the injectors pro cleaned off car, (sonic cleaned)
6: engine thermosat holding water temp at 180F or more steady!!!
7: back flush every inch of cooling system and sub parts.

after all that id diagnose it.
starting with fuel pressure tests , all 6 of them.
ask.

TSB's the update MR2 engine signal (spark) generators (sensor)
old ones are no good.
bid away

1986 dodge 600 temp gauge and fan not working

If you go to Autozone.com site and register your vehicle, you can get free wiring diagrams and fusebox layouts for your car. Another site is alldatadiy.com

Years ago, some Libraries would buy books which illustrated the wiring on many vehicles.

Finally, do a Web search using the header "1986 Dodge 600 wiring diagrams (or illustrated wiring)"

I hope my solution is helpful, please rate my info.

My 1986 dodge 600 keeps burning up the e.c.m.'s, what are some things to check

ECM's don't just go around burning up. Are your air intake tubes properly connected to the ECM? Are you sure that whatever problem you are having is actually being caused by the ECM?

Did the 1986 Volvo 760 have maintenance issues?

All Volvo passenger cars have a rigorous maintenance schedule. Typical items:
1) Timing belt and tensioner are designed to last only 50,000 miles. Both must be replaced when performing service on the belt drive system.
2) Transmission fluid service includes a filter and screen. It also includes cleaning of the magnets which trap particles before they can damage the transmission.
3) Models with two fuel pumps can have issues if the main pump fails or the tank pump fails. If either is suspect, change both and replace the filter, which is to be found underneath the car, in a cradle under the driver's side.
4) The fuel pump relay is especially vulnerable to failure - it is to be found on the overflow bottle (1984 to 1989 non-turbo, Regina non turbo) and all others on the driver's side, near the front of the car, aside of the battery on a clip.
5) B230F series engines use a rear-mounted distributor, the seals are prone to hardening and failure. They are all replaceable and at the time of this writing, are still obtainable. The procedure is relatively straightforward to remove and replace.
6) Oil seals all over the car should be replaced: front oil seals, cam oil seals, etc. They are all prone to hardening over the years and as such, should be replaced.
7) Vacuum lines 20+ years old usually will crumble - it is recommended to remove and replace them all. They are of different construction per the application and the general rule of thumb is to use the harder lines as they will not **** shut under high vacuum nor bulge during boost, if the vehicle is equipped with a turbocharger (1982-1986 used a GT03 Garrett, and later models used either a Mitsubishi TD04 or TD05).
8) New copper sealing washers must be used when working on the fuel or oil systems. Always use teflon tape when refitting various oil lines.
