Question about 1983 Dodge 600
I have a 1986 Dodge 600 Convertible 2.2L naturally aspirated [NON-TURBO]. Basically a K-Car same thing as a Lebaron or Aries really. The car has 82,000km on it & I use Valoline Conventional 10w-30 in summer & 5w-30 & sometimes Valvoline Maxlife of the same grade but conventional. I change the Oil every 5,000km. Is it ok for the car to use Syntehtic Oil. I've heard some people say that older cars oil leaks through the gasket. Also this car has never had the engine rebuilt it in the original from the factory and I am the 3rd owner within the family.
Switch to synthetic oil and your leaks will stop. I have an 1985 dodge 600 convertible with a 2.6L engine and put synthetic oil in it and the leak has stopped

Sounds like you do a good job on oil changes. Just use a good grade oil. I like castrol. I've been scared of valvoline since they bought out quaker state.
