I had the same problem, i found out that both rear torque arm bushing are filled with liquid grease, when they go bad all the grease comes out of them and then the metal sleeve inside the bushing starts the hit the bolts, when you hit a bump. that was the loud noise, that i had.

My 2006 Chevy uplander LT AWD the rear driver side makes a load humming sound , then when you make a fast right turn the humming stops, then when you resume driving straight the humming starts again.

I have the same problem on the passenger side rear. It sounds like the whole back end is loose. I took it to the shop and after 600 dollars the noise is still there. They replaced the rear breaks new tires and new shocks.

Seems like you have a bad DEALER. Because dealers are factory trained and have access to the latest bulletins and prelim information (THAT ISN"T AVAIL ANYWHERE ELSE). If they can't fix a problem or verify it, they have the ability to call GM engineering and speak with an engineer about the problem and get advice where to look. Coming online and saying that you have a noise from the rear while driving could be a hundred different things. GO to the GM Dealer, take a test drive WITH a technician. Its a 2006 its under warranty, and it is THEIR job to find the problem. If you aren't satisfied with the dealer, call customer assistance. Once customer assistance contacts them im sure you will get alot more help.

Everytime I hit a bump the rear end slams into the frame. New shocks and a check of the springs show no problems. GM dealership said no problems,...but the there is a problem...the darn thing is bottoming...

If this vehicle is equipped with rear struts....not shock absorbers...which most vehicles are equipped with today the sound you are speaking of seems to indicate worn strut plates and bushings... most repair facilities over look these items when replacing the strut housings and thus customer gets this noise even louder now that the struts are new and the plates and bushings are old not able to absorb the shock the vehicles suspension incurrs whuile riding over a bumpy terrain.

How do you remove the spare tire from a 2006 chevy uplander?

To remove the spare you need to access tools stored in the back of the vehicle, passenger side storage area. Open llftgate, remove net (if equipped), lift tab and remove cover to tool storage. Attach folding wrench to extension, insert 'chisel' end on an angle through the hole in the rear bumper and into the hoist shaft. Turn wrench counter-clockwise to lower spare enough so you can pull it from beneath the van to detach. Good luck!

Good or bad?

It's a terrible minivan. Read the reviews, they have all been bad. The only thing going for it was it's low price tage. Aside from that every other mini-van was superior in each and every way.
