Hi, I have got a 1996 300tdi Discovery, Intermittently it will not start. I have all lights on the dash shining bright; the battery is only 4 months old. When I turn the Key I can?t hear the starter clicking, but I can hear a small click from the glove box area. 2003 sentra Nissan. Trouble starting, engine has died while I was driving, it did start back up. Today speedometer, engine temp, etc showed nothing? Battery is 5 months old? What could be wrong?

Nothing working on the instrument cluster ? Shouldn't be a battery problem with being only five months old. Turn on the headlamps , do they shine bright ? Does the check engine light come on when you turn the key to the on position ? Do all warning lights come on with the key on , then some go off after a few seconds ? Checking for diagnostic trouble codes in the instrument cluster would be a good thing to do also . The Instrument cluster could be the problem .

Cant get my starter to engage when I turn the key on.

Is the battery fully charged and all cables clean and tight? You can try tapping on starter motor with a blunt object while trying to crank it. If it starts, the starter motor is bad

I have 2011 Equinox purchased in Dec 2010. It sat idle for almost 4weeks during vacation. Now I will be driving and the dash lights, radio lights all get very bright. I can not adjust them at all with...

Leaving a modern vehicle parked for a month will almost totally discharge the battery. Trying to charge a dead battery by driving can cause these symptoms. Charge it with a battery charger and then have both the battery and your charging system tested. You probably need a new battery. Average battery life is just 4-5 years.

Dash lights go off intermittently

I'm no expert, I recently purchased a 2003 vibe. I noticed the automatic headlight's sensors can be super-sensitive, about an hour hours before dusk they'll kick my headlights on (when the sun is still shining!), or sometimes when I go into an underpass, and then sometimes they'll realize it's light enough and turn themselves off. This would cause your dash lights to go to the 'headlights on' mode and turn the headlamp signal on, the intensity is controlled by the dimmer/dome light control on the left side of the dash. Check to see if the dimmer is down too far, as this could cause the lights to dim when the automatic headlights turn on. It's also possible that the dimmer is not working, thus no power is getting to the dash lights through the dimmer. Try testing it by starting the car in daylight, then manually turn on the headlights, then adjust the dimmer. Like I say, I'm no expert, just guessing because I've noticed it happen similarly on my Vibe, but my dimmer was at half-way, as I like it for night driving. Someday, I'd like to disable the automatic sensors and DRL.
