How to replace license plate bulb on 2004 Buick Century


You have to take out the entire back lights, Inside the trunk pull back the material and unscrew those plastic lugs. (Some years have lights on trunk when opened or under) But in my 01 the lights come up with the trunk. Remove those lugs. Take off the entire rear light assembly. You'll have easy access to the License plate bulbs. Sounds complicated but it takes a total of 10 minutes total. While your at it wash the area where the lights were on. A coat of wax left on will keep the water, moisture from rotting the surfaces. Make sure your seals are good and re-install. If the bolts are rusting put a small amount of grease on them. (Prior to re-installation of course)

Where is the fan relay switch on a 2004 honda accord


I'm pretty sure it's one of the large CUBE like relays near the drivers side close to windshield area. We had to replace ours with a new fan assembly recently.

Leaking directly below the valve cover on the drivers side, I've replaced the valve cover three times now?


Block surface might have a slight dent at the leak location. First mark the leak area then remove the cover again. Inspect the surface with a straight metal rod - look for a slight opening underneath.

A liquid seal & new cover gasket might stop the leak at this location.

This is a general question: New brake rotors and drums are usually delivered with some kind of antirust coating. It can be a thin layer of oil, or some primer type paint. I was told, before installing...


Remove the oil or any other coating on the surface's where the brake shoes or pads make contact. This area should be cleaned before installing brake shoes/pads. As for the sand paper for the surface, it is a good idea to lightly sand the contact surface, but just lightly. What is also important is applying anti squeal to the backside (metal side) of the brake pad before installing, and also apply a small bit of grease where the brake shoe hits the backing plate (high spot on the backing plate, there is most likely four raised areas total for each side) on the rear brake assembly....just a small amount will keep the rears from making noise also.

Where is turn signal flasher located on a 1993 Trans Am


Not familiar with vehicle but ,,,, what you will need to find is the internal fuse panel around the drivers side steering wheel columb area. , sometimes behind kick panel ! The componant will be a cube shaped and the largest of all the cubes within the panel , It will bear some markings resembling " 12V 42/ 98W " or similar . It may also have 3/4 terminals which have possibly 31 49 49a on it. Good Luck

How do I retract the caliper piston?


Note on rear-caliper piston tool:
Instead of paying $50 for the VW or similar custom tool, you can use a generic $5 import "cube" tool available at most national-chain part stores.
# One side of the cube has 4 prongs. Grind or file off 2 diagonally opposite aka kitty-corner prongs to allow the cube to fit the vw rear brake piston.
# Use with a 3/8" ratchet. It can be easier to fasten the rear caliper back onto the carrier without the rotor in place while using this tool. That way you get a little extra leverage.
# Use as follows: engage the two prongs and turn piston 180° clockwise. Remove the tool. Use a generic caliper tool or a c-clamp and push the piston in about 2mm. Keep alternating back and forth between the cube tool and the c-clamp until piston is almost all the way in. If you are strong enough, you may not even need the c-clamp - just push with the cube tool as you turn. Instead of the cube, you can even use needle-nose pliers, but then you definitely need the c-clamp.
# Even with this special tool, the rear brakes can be rather difficult, so make sure you have plenty of time. I still recommend purchasing or renting the $50 professional tool cause it is much easier to use.
# If you're totally confused by all this, just take your wheels off and look at the brakes up close. Its simpler than it sounds on paper. And get the Bentley publishers shop manual for your car. That book pays for itself after one or two jobs. If your still at lost, Auto Zone has the loner tool you'll need for $50.00 and you'll get it back after you return the tool and they can give you the step by step instructions mentioned above. Good luck.

Front driver side turn signal light doesn't flash.replaced bulb,replaced socket,all other lights work on emergency flasher,except front driver side.rear driver side turn signal light works,but flashes...


replace flasher......usually located in fuse block area...listen in this area....select passenger side ...then select driver side...you can hear flasher clicking...you have seperate flashers for each...FLASHERS are small cubes plugged into fuse block....probable bad driverside flasher

Leaking oil bad


If you're certain it isn't your oil filter, then it can only be three other things. The first (and easiest) thing to check is a small diamond-shaped plate on the side of the block, under the intake manifold, towards the alternator. It has a bolt and a stud in it. Verify that both of those are tight. If they are tight, check the four bolts that secure the "push rod cover" to the side of the engine. The push rod cover runs the length of the engine and is located directly under the intake manifold. This was the culprit of my oil leak, and I imagine it will be yours also. However, if you find that those bolts are tight and no oil can be found leaking from that area, check your valve cover. The Fiero valve covers were stamped from very pliable steel and it is difficult, at best, to get them to seal correctly. Problems usually occur when people torque the bolts too tight and bend the valve cover. I recommend a product called "Indianhead" gasket shellac. Remove the valve cover and ensure all gasket surfaces are clean. Ensure the valve cover's gasket mating surface is straight - straighten with a hammer and block of wood if needed. Follow the directions on the bottle to the letter, making sure to coat your valve cover gasket surface, both sides of your gasket, and the gasket surface on the head.
