One other thing is road noise. It's a noisy car. BUT, it's a great car and the standard safety features are fantastic. I absolutely love mine. Also, it has more hp than similar vehicles of its class. I test drove a Honda Fit and its puny 109 hp engine made interstate ramp driving pretty hairy. It also sucked on hills. The XD's 128 horses make this little car a lot more fun to drive.

SLOUTION 2 IS NOT CORRECT! The xD DOES NOT have center mounted gauges like the old xA did (like in the middle where above where your stereo is?). It has its speedo and tach right in front of the driver like normal.

THEY MAY be referring to the arrangement of the needles in that both the speedo and tach are in the same ,but seaparate cluster see pic.

I'd also disagree to say that the storage is below average. the rear seats fold nearly flat, and when upright, the also can recline up ADN slide forward to offer more room while still maintaining seating space,(although somewhat reduced.)

road noise is NOT at a luxury level but, its not ridiculous either (the nice factory stereo should help). all in all for the money, this car has style, MPGs, room, comfort and quality.

The only major drawbacks to the xD are its center-mounted gauges, which take some getting used to, and cargo capacity that's a bit less than the segment's average.

Entire truck goes dead no lights on panel nothing is it a major fuse

Something that major sounds like the battery cable is not secure.
Otherwise still something major - fusable link or relay. Has it done this and then just come back? bad connection or ground.

I am looking into buying a used 2000-03 Porsche Boxster 2.7L with less than 90k. And i was wondering if there are any major problems on that car since they made the 2.7l engine are they reliable and if not...

No major faults to report. However the RMS may be faulty as with previous models whoch is not terminal meaning will not cause a major catastophe down the line ( as per my Porsche dealer at Guildford, Surrey). Its £1k fix. Other than that bullet proff if service histor is up to date. ENjoy.

My 06 hyundai elantra is in the shop right now for a repair of a head gasket, its almost at 60,000 miles. They said that a major service is coming up.....what type of major service are they talking about?

Major service means tune up and timing belt.
Look up your owner manual , there is a service schedule section , you'll find what needs to be done at 60k on your car , but in any case it shouldn't add up much more cost sience engine all apart,
And as for the timing belt (if you have one) , they have to replace it anyway , because when you do a head gasket , you take timing belt out.

My father and mother both have 1966 Valiant cars. They are concerned about the phasing out of unleaded petrol as they understand they cannot use E10. Are they able to use premium unleaded? My father tried...

E10 is only 10% alcohol and should not give those cars much of a problem.
Alcohol actually raises the octane rating as it does not detonate as easily as gasoline. The major drawback to alcohol is that it cannot produce the same amount of heat (power) as gasoline does, so in relaity you need twice as much to do the same amount of work...Therefore a vehicle that gets 20mpg on gasoline will only get 17-18 when using an alcohol additive.
The major component in fuel that prevents wear and engine knocking is lead which was phased out many years ago.
If your parents have any problems with the alternative fuel one good thing is neither of their vehicles have a catalytic converter. Therefore they can use lead additives, octane boosters etc as fuel additives with no subsequent problems.
You can also alter (advance) the ignition timing a few degrees (max 8 degrees, min TDC) which can often re-gain any lost performance.
In extreme cases, the main carb jet can be replaced with a slightly larger one. (problem is finding one and installing it) But that is generally unnecessary.

Cost to rebuild 2003 overland engine

Cost to rebuild depends largely upon what exactly failed in order to need a rebuild.(which parts failed, what else is worn etc) There are many benefits to a good rebuild, the primary one is that once used, the actual casting has moved around and taken a set, making any machine work more accurate and less likely to change with use.
The drawback is that if there was a bearing or other failure that generated metal debris, unless the block is flushed out completely, that debris will eventually find it's way to a major component and cause another failure. Then, there is the actual quality of the work itself...that depends upon the knowledge and ethics of the rebuilder.
In most cases, you are better off finding a low mile engine from a scrap yard or buying a replacement engine from the factory (called a crate engine) Labor for R&R depends upon prevailing rate in your area.
You have much more to think about besides cost!!!

Thinking of buying a 07 Nissan Sentra 4dr Sedan, car inspection noted: " mild noise while driving sounds like valve train or injectors noise" Is this a major concern?

You bet it can be a major concern. It may be a minor issue but it may be a major problem. Why take a chance? There are plenty of used cars out there with no problems. Walk away from this car and do not look back.
