WHAT ARE FORD ZETEC CAMBELT REPLACEMENT INTERVALS

60.000 miles/ 100.000 kilometres is the standard interval
it reduces for high speed engine work, dusty conditions and oil leaks
If there is oil mist/ dust evident on the cover, it is best to replace the belt, oil seals ,hydraulic adjuster and idler pulleys as the oily dust indicates a leak that will quickly destroy a timing belt

Tune up for a 2005 lexus RX 330

1. get oil and filter change every 8000 km by using good quality synthetic oil.
2. regularly change air filter especially if driving on dusty roads.
3. keep tires seasonally rotated and check tire pressure regularly.
4. Top up all fluids. Dirty fluids should be replaced.
5. keep an eye on brakes
I follow this PLUS the Owner`s manual on maintenance. It should help.

How many miles or time period between oil change is recommended for Acura 2006 MDX? Is synthetic oil recommended or required?

Depends on driving style. Dusty roads? Lot of stop and go? Lot of short trips under 5 miles? Then 3000 miles is a good interval. If it's all highway miles then you can stretch it to 5000 miles. Synthetic is always better because of it's resistance to breaking down and loosing it's lubrication abilities. Hope that helps. I'm not sure if it's required in that car.

What time engine oil change

many asian imports recommend oil change intervals of up to 7500 miles, and only changing the oil filter every other oil change. but there are factors that come into play. for instance japan (Toyota, Nissan, etc) is an island, and korea (Kia) is a small peninsula. Not may 2-3 thousand mile cross country road trips. plus mass transportation and highly urban driving makes for shorter driving trips. also, synthetic oils can tolerate more use before the viscosity begins to break down. for USA use the time-honored 3000 miles for oil and filter is more advisable considering the cost of that more regular maintenance versus the cost of potential damage.

Transmission chemical break down

new BMWs recommends never change it. some high end cars are this way. Just like BMW oil service is 15,000 with syn.

Unless your stressing the trans by alot of dusty roads or towing I would say if you have dipstick look at the condition. It should NOT be brownish, Pinkish red is good.

But if it were my I wouldn't go much past 30,000 or whatever manufactures intervals are. Ask your mechanic on your next oil service.

I don't know the distance intervals to change timing belt and Differencial system oil.

Timing belt at 100000km or 60000miles , Diff oil in a car about the same, in a 4WD , more often especially if using in water or very dusty conditions.
If uncertain, change them sooner, Belts and oil are much cheaper than bearings and rebuilt engines!
Hope this helps Marshall

Who sets the "service now" interval?

yes you should go to the dealer for this, you either have a soft code or a hard code.If the light is always on it is a hard code, get it checked before more problems occur.

How often do I change the oil in my new Lincoln MKX ...every 2000 km or every 5000 km?

The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.

Wrench light is on and odometer shows negative mileage

The negative number means the car should have had it's oil changed that many miles ago. Oil life starts at 100% for new oil & counts down every 10%. At 15% the display will always show, which means it's near time to change the oil.

usersteve83, your oil may have been changed but the timer not reset. Reset the timer as shown...
1. Turn ignition to the "ON" position. (do not start engine)
2. Press SEL/RESET repeatedly until the oil life indicator is displayed.
3. Press & hold the SEL/RESET for about 10 seconds until it blinks then let go of the button.
4. Press the SEL/RESET again for about 5 seconds or until the oil life indicator resets to 100%.

Wrench = Maintenance Minder: Symbol letter & number...
Symbol A - Relace engine oil.
Symbol B - Replace engine oil & filter, Inspect front & rear brakes, Check parking brake adjustment, Visually inpest the tie rods, suspension components, driveshaft boots, brake hoses & line (including ABS), all fluid levels & their conditions, exhaust system, fuel lines & connections.
Symbol 1 - Rotate tires.
Symbol 2 - Replace air cleaner element (dusty conditions every 15K miles) & replace dust & pollen filter (behind glovebox) every 15K miles if mainly dusty or city driving.
Symbol 3 - Replace transmission fluid.
Symbol 4 - Replace spark plugs.
Symbol 5 - Replace engine coolant.

All above are taken from the 2006 Civic EX owner's manual.
