Dang... Clean the throttle body/carburetor. Inside of it. Also the idle air control motor. Replace the air filter if dirty. You checked the wire for the coolant senor. Was it less then 5 Ohm's resistance? It is not the ECM or the sensor. Since it works OK after it gets warm. Do you use E85 fuel? Don't when it is below 40 degrees fareinhieght.

98 chev silverado..........stops running when the air temp is 90* and above. acts like it just runs out of gas. set for 15 min and runs fine.


if you can see the data of pcm the coolant senor could be out of range.or the map sensor itself located on intake manifold defect when getting hot

From what I see on AllData, there is no MAF - seems honda used a MAP.

I have a 89 full size blazer, runs great for about 20 minutes then there is no throttle respond or fuel shooting from the injectors. I can turn the truck off and crank it right back up and it will run for...


The fuel injectors need voltage and ground. The voltage usually goes hot with key on and is fuse protected. When problem is ongoing, you could use a test light to check for voltage at fuel injector. Engine cranking if voltage on both wires, there is no ground. The computer grounds that circuit.
There is a purple wire with white tracer that carries rpm signal from ignition module to computer, that is rpm signal, w/o that dc pulse on that wire, the computer won't ground the fuel injector. Just my opinion. There could be a problem with your ignition module, but, I can't be certain?

Raw fuel running rich, two thing control that, coolant temp. sensor and MAP sensor both work like a choke, make sure you have vacum at map senor and with scan tool check coolant temp. senor, also have your catilic converter check, if clog will run rich not enough air going in, so to much fuel.

1988 cube van with 350 tbi. surging at idle and will eventually shut off. will not throttle up but very little. replaced fuel filter, dist. cap, rotor button, plugs, wires. thinking MAP or IAC? how to test...


the throttle body used to get carboned up where the map senor passage is pull the vacuum hose off map and check vacuum if vacuum is not present remove throttle body nad clean passage
