Well you ve to use a voltmeter check the battery before it stars and then while idling while idling volts must be about 13v or so. if you got your 13 while idling just replace your battery, if you got less then 12v while idling your problem is the alternator. if you got good volts at any time, motor off or idling your problem is your starter...

Ignition causing clicking noise when starting and has caused a slow start. Not the battery or alternator

Have the battery tested at a local autoparts store. The voltage may read good until you try and put a load on it, like cranking your car. If you had a meter on it when trying to crank it, you might see the voltage drop way down. This would indicate a bad battery.

I have a 1996 chevy geo tracker it won't start

Hi Leigh, Have the charging rate of the alternator checked. If you have a voltage test meter, select a voltage range above 15 volts DC and measure the voltage across the positive and negative poles of the battery. It will show a low voltage before the vehicle is started. Jump start and measure the voltage again. If the voltage is about thirteen volts or more, the problem is with the battery, which you'll need to replace. If the voltage across the terminals remains at the voltage first recorded before start up, the problem is with the alternator. Regards John

Hi all,I have a Ford focus 2004 tdci 1.8 and the immobiliser intermittently won't turn off,I've tried both keys and its still won't start.kind regards Dean

Ford products are sensitive to changes in Battery voltage. The system views low Voltage as an attempted theft and makes the Alarm go off.

Remove the Battery, return it with a full charge or new Battery. Some other symptoms would be slow cranking or clicking like a dead battery. The Antitheft reduces starter Voltage to around 7 Volts making starting nearly impossible.

Please rate my info. If all else fails, the Identity in the car memory may no longer match the identity on the car keys. You would need to have a Dealer rematch the keys to the car.

My 2007santa Fe had trouble starting and when it finally did the engine wouldn't go over 2000 rpm and the gauge with the wheels and axle was blinking. I turned off car and started it again and it was...

It may have just been a computer glitch. If it comes on again try checking the battery's state of charge. Sometimes a low voltage can throw up glitches from time to time on some models.

2007 Crysler 300 pulled in to get gas turned car off. now car won't start. got a jump car started. took it to auto zone. he said battery fine alternater was at 14 it was fine. gauges going haywi

The alternator may be charging at 14v but if the battery cannot hold charge, then a low voltage issue may be present. If a jumpt start worked to get the vehicle going, then I'm assuming your battery is close to dead.

2004 sebring won't start at all

sounds like you might have lost the altanator. Check the battary to see if it is very low, if so it was running of the battery and not the altanator. try charging the battery and see if it will run. If it does, checkthe voltage on the battery. it should be above 13 volts when runnig. If not it is the altanator.

Sometimes the car won't start- it sounds like the battery is dead or close to it and the wipers start. If I wait it will start or a jump will start it. Why do the wipers start?

First thing to do is to have the battery teasted..Because a battery with low voltage will cause unusual things to happen..Take it to autozone ,,and have the battery load tested and they can also make sure the alternator is charging...You may have two problems going on..If the GEM module is getting low voltage it will cause that to happen...The GEM operates your inside components ,,like the wipers,,and dome light and stuff..

Won;t crank

Hi, if the car engine fails to crank, there is a fault in one of the components in the battery/ignition/starter circuit. Low battery (Check battery voltage, recharge if low, or jump start with another vehicle or battery charger). Bad starter relay/solenoid (Check for voltage at relay, if relay has voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace relay). Bad ignition switch (Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace ignition switch if defective).

Malfunction light popped up

If it turned over slowly, You most likely need a battery. The light can/will come on for battery voltage low. You should have it checked to make sure though.

My car is barely starting (tuning over). each time I try it gets even worse. It feels like the battery is low but nothing was left on. 2006 Nissan Pathfinder - same problem, started like a champ 2 days...

Check all your connections, make sure they are all clean & tight. Do you have a multimeter available for a voltage check at battery, before & after starting?
