Question about Ford Mustang

1 Answer

I am trying to figure out what kind of ford engine my father has. He was told it is a 1964 or 65 engine but can't be sure. I don't know where to even begin to look for him. The numbers that were on it are: 3C50E-6059-A1. It is a ford 289 engine and says Sheffield on it.

Some type engines are used year after year only the "skin" of the new model is changed Your engine could have been used on both 64 and 65.

Will an obd II reader come out with codes for problems even if the check engine light isn't on?

I think you have a defective fuel pump pressure check valve here. If you don't have a check engine light on you will not have any codes.

I have a 1988 vw cabriolet & it overheats all the time. even short distances & i can't figure out why. its not the fan i know for sure cuz i just fixed it. please help meee

Is your electric fan coming on? There is probably a fuse in the engine compartment that protects it.
Are you sure it's really getting overheated? Maybe a bad gauge, but I doubt it. don-ohio

Was driving and all of a sudden the engine turned off and every light imaginable in my 2004 Mercury Mountaineer turned on. I coaxed to a parking lot and it won't start but all the power is still on in...

You do not need to go to any dealer ever, with any vehicle

You do however, have to find a repair shop that knows what
they are doing

Your taking about flashing updates into a different PCM
Again don't need a dealer, you need a shop with the scan
tool module for that & they have to pay for a licence from
ford to download the updates

I would say your vehicle hasn't been properly diagnosed
& has had even more problems put into it.

Can not even guess at the issues without the truck

PCM's don't fail often, put the old one back & go
to a different shop. One that has been in the same family
for 30 years

I recently inherited a 1991 Ford Econoline van with a cracked manifold. The engine makes a sound sort of like firing a machine gun underwater. My father never got it fixed because of the difficulty and...

91 is not that old studs probably wont break -but if large crack would have to take off to weld cast and if off might as well change it if small crack friends and i have fixed using j-b weld but u have to take a small drill bit 1/16 or smaller and at each end of crack drill hole so crack wont expand any further wire brush area clean and try the cold weld let set for a couple of days.crack wont affect compression

If they can't figure out why you still have a misfire, then I'm not sure I'd take it back to them. Did they have any suggestions, or price quotes?
