Question about 1995 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

I have had a problem with my starter atching and then sliping making a zinging noise for about 7 months i had to try to baby it because of financial reasons. well yesterday i went to start the vehicle and the starter caught then stopped working all together when i pulled out the key the ignition lights stayed on and the warning buzzer stayed on untill i disconected the battery . Could this be a burnt up wire in the relay?

How do i get the starter off

You may be getting ahead of yourself. What makes you think the starter is faulty. Assuming you have checked the battery for a full charge, try the following. When you try to start your car listen closely for a click. If you get the click you know the starter relay is good. If you get a zinging sound, the relay is good and the battery power is getting to the starter but the bendix is not engaging the starter to the engine. Now it may be time to take the starter off. It could be a need for mew starter brushes..

What makes the rpm go down and a zinging noise when going down hil

the whiz bang is out of adjustment for your back azimuth. Should be 20 dgrees N X NNW. Unless you have a Cobra shifter matic with Whiz bang on the fly adapter.

My car just clicked when I turn the ignition over iw will not jump start and there is a whiz zing noise

Your starter motor has a problem
First check all electrical connections to the starter as they may have come loose or coroded.
Secondly check for a jammed starter
Get a hammer and hit the starter motor casing to see if it will free up (or get someone with mechanical knowledge to do it for you).
Thirdly if none of this works then the starter is probably shot and will need replacing

My 2000 flstc after I ride for a while the starter has trouble engaging and just zings ,I just put a new battery in it and it will start after being on a battery assist for a day .

Have you tried pulling the starter and putting it back on? sometimes gears in a starter dont want to line up correctly and that is where the zing comes in, could have bad teeth on the starter or fly wheel as well that are causing this to occur... I have had the same problem with a chevy truck, the zinging and sometimes hangin up, I tightened a bolt on the flywheel and rehung the starter,it fired right up. check the wire connections also either loose or from corrosion on the starter connections as well as the battery... hope this helps.

I have a 2003 jeep liberty..Jeep runs great .Having a start issue. It started when it was cold. The bendix would stick and stay inengaed for a second.as it got colder it was louder sounded like i was holding...

try shimming the starter , it sounds like it is a tiny bit to close to the flywheel and is binding, causing a tinny or metal to metal sound.
dosent sound like it needs a very thick shim .probably no more
than a thousands or two. hope this helps

Will not start, new battery 3 months ago. think

it could be starter or altinator
try another battery if it starts with that its your altinator
if it was your starter it would make a clicking or whiring noise when you try to start it.

The engine will not turn over at all

Possibly could be the starter. About the only this I can tell you to try would be to tap on the starter wile someone else is trying to start it. If if cranks, you will need a starter. This is the easyist way to check it without a machine.

2003 Beetle Starter failure

the dealership is going to collect on the repair weather it is from you or vw. they always want to fix the concerns that you have but unless they are able to duplicate your concern they cannot correct your issue. Would you really want them be dishonest and just guess what your problem is or would you rather they fix it.
