I have a 97 chrysler cirrus. The key is stuck in the ignition and won't turn to the off position to take the key out. i can switch through some gears without pushing the gear shifting button. HELP?!

Get a can of WD-40 and use the straw-like sprayer attachment to spray into and around the stuck key. Spray as far into the ignition cylinder as possible, wiggling the key (if possible) as you do so. This will lubricate the inner workings and allow the key to release. Keep working with it until you have the key moving in and out as it would normally. It may take repeated attempts and multiple sprays to soak into the lock holding the key, but it will release eventually. Don't give up.

Truck will not shut off. Running without key in the ignition. How to turn off?

If you messed with the ignition system on the vehicle to get it started without a key then you disconnect what you did to now stop the engine.

Shifter button stuck

Please explain about the shifter button. It is I believe the root cause of the probems you have, use any sharp object and try to pry it up and then spray a tiny bit of WD40 around the button.

2002 honda civic key stuck in ignition, won't start, shift lever stuck

Your Civic has immobilizer, which means it will not allow duplicate keys. There are high chance that your old keys are worn out and this could be the reason. Any ways i would suggest you how to remove the keys but involves bit technical work . The LHS dash board part can be unscrewed and removed fully using the car manual, once removed the key holder joints to 4 brace compartment and there is a button beneath it, you need to press the small red button to release the key. This is not a standard method of removal, if your car has security alarm make sure you turn it off.. please remember - this suggestion should be followed only if this is your car. I;m not responsible for the solution being incorrectly followed without following manual.

Okay, you are correct, the key is stuck because of the shifter lock wont release, the most common reason is its stuck, you will need to remove the covering around shift to get to shifter lock release solenoid, there you will clean and lube it, you will need to move it by hand as you spray wd40 on the arms, you will see how it work by pressing the shift release and you will see to lever that gets pushed, it wont move because its stuck but you will see the levers move inside, hope this helps, good day.

2003 Trailblazer- no power after key stuck in ignition

Sounds like an antitheft problem I would start with the antitheft system. Usually when you only have one key all keys have to be programmed together even the original. When you have more than one it is easy to program additional keys.
