No power on running lights for my 2002 Chevy Express 2500 Van. Whenever it's raining and I press my brakes pulling my trailer my dash lights go off. Now I have no power on the running lights to the back and the buzzer that tells me that I've left my lights on is not sounding.

SOURCE: 2009 chevy expres trailer wiring harness

Ask dealer if it has a towing package on it. If it does, you usually just pop fuse in under hood for electric brakes, and harness to adapt into is usually near or at rear bumper. Even if it doesn't have brake wire, you should still be able to install adapter at rear, for lights etc. which is available from dealer or auto supply places, then you may have to run electric brakes separate.

SOURCE: where does electric trailer brake harness plug into under dash

what are you asking? how do you get the lights to hook up to the back of your truck? you may need a pigtail connector to hook the trailer up and have it work properly.

SOURCE: where does electric trailer brake harness plug into under dash

You have to go to the dealer and purchase a harness that will plug in by the fusebox underneath the driverside dash. From there you can wire in your electric brakes

SOURCE: I have A 2000 Chevy 3500 Express Van and the brake

Hi,

When you said that you checked the brake switch, did you check it live? Meaning verified live power to the switch, press switch, and then power came out the other terminal?

If so, also verify zero power on brake press, at the offending brake light bulb terminal. You must verify the test light each time you move it...leave running lights on...

After verifying that there is no power coming, after the brake is pressed, note the wire color and find it where it comes to the steering column and test there... This would eliminate wires and connections between front and the rear of the vehicle, unlikely, but needs to be tested.

After verifying no power at that terminal, then yes the t/s switch is certainly suspece. This may be the time to get a mechanic to verify and replace the switch, there are locks, tilt mechanisms, air bags, column bearings, etc involved. Failures risk loss of vehicle control (locking or binding for example.)..

Hope this gets you going in the right direction.

Testimonial: "Thank You. I tried those things and it seemed to be the Emergency Flasher switch in the multi function switch."

2006 chevy express 2500. While changing the brakes on my van, a rivet and clip pulled through the rear wheel dust plate, I'm unsure on how to fix this as now one half of the shoe is rubbing agains

get a washer welded in its place but if you dont want to go that way you will need to pull the brake shoes the drive axle just to get to the backing plate so you can remove the old one and install a new one

I have a 2006 chevy express van, I am trying to wire up lights for a trailer. I have brake lights, turn signal lights but no tail lights? All lights and wiring are new.

Check for power at the splice/connector. Also check fuses as it should have different fuses for trailer lighting. Also Try this site http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. Full of useful info.

Running light problem on chevy express 3500 box van

Vehicle electric trouble shooting is the worst. Some of the problems you described the bulbs may have multiple filiments with only some burned out. It may sound silly but change the bulbs. Get a couple of new bulbs and try them in the different spots. Time, road vibrations and spring pressure causes the contacts on the bulbs to wear until they get a poor connection then you get a little arcing that build up a residue and a bulb that test good doesn't work.
Your on the right track with the ground wire. Try a test lamp with a good gound connection and test the different sockets, if your test light works but your bulb doesn't you have a ground fault. If neither work check the switch and fuse before you start tracing the wiring. These are just general trouble shooting tips It's very hard to trouble shoot electrical problems sight unseen.

Headlight won't come on

The headlights have 2 fuses. One is a main power feed under the hood in the distrabution box and the other is under the dashboard. Check the fuses and then check for power at the switch. If you have power at the switch then its not a fuse its the switch and the trailer you had connected most likely shorted and back fed into the parking and dash light circuit. Those circuits also run from the light switch.
