It comes from the main engine wiring harness and that goes to the firewall and then to the engine control computer

1992 ford ranger 2.3liter/code 224&334 what is the problem and what do I replace.

224 is "Throttle position sensor/Pedal position sensor/Switch B circuit intermittent".
334 is "Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Intermittent [bank 2]".

If you don't notice any symptoms, I would clear the codes and see if they come back right away. If they do, you'll have to start checking it over for damaged sensors or wiring first before you buy anything. If the codes don't come back, forget about it for now.

These are generic codes so the description is giving you multiple choices. So be $$ cautious. You can see if a Ford dealer can scan it with a "Ford" scanner and get more detailed info for you. BUT, maybe not because a 1992 Ranger is Pre-OBD 2 so it's computer is pretty basic and not high tech anymore.

Lifter knocking in my 89 ford ranger

A lifter problem can only be fixed by changing the lifter. You might as well change all of them because it is just as easy since you have already had to take the heads off to get at the noisy lifter. While you are at it, get the heads reconditioned or a valve job. More than likely the oil was not changed as often as it should have been. Dirty oil works like sand paper on the valve stems.

How do i fix code 51 89 ranger 2.3 std trans

That code is for the coolant temp open circuit. More than likely replacing the coolant temp sensor will correc the issue but check/verify the connector and wiring for the temp sensor before you replace.

Is this a manual trans in this truck, if so, try shifting down a gear. But yes a timing belt could cause this, but usually they wont run very well if the timing belt is that bad worn.

89 ford ranger 2.3L distribtorless EFI...have three relays located directly under the high current fuse box under the hood(passenger side fenderwell)no description on there function, the plugs are color...

could be the crankshaft position sensor or cam position sensor failure or immobilizer problem
the wiring to those units is susceptible to failure over long time use
