I just purchased a 2003 volkson passat sedan,it did not have the1.1 manual in it. how often do i need to change the oil on this car?

I would ck with a Volkson car dealer but it's usuall every 3000 miles.

I need an oil change for my '07 passat sedan and I'm not 100% sure if I should use 5W-30 or 5W-40.


Look at you owner's Manual and it should tell you. and sometimes it also say on the Valve cover Cap where you put the oil in. Good luck

I purchased a 2003 late 52 plate vw passat 2.0 petrol 130 sport after a few days the oil light came on then i topped it up after two weeks of driving local i found i done a check and found it needed...


from the VW manual........"expect to use about 1 litre for every 500 km."the oil level should be checked every week".........some cars have a breather on the side of the block that needs cleaning every year.(looks like a metal canister about 2.1/2" tall by 4"wide with a hose to the inlet manifold/air cleaner).

I HAVE A 2003 VW PASSAT WITH 102000, MILES V6, WHAT MAJOR ITEMS SHOULD i BE CHECKING


the timing belt or chain...which ever you have...
a transmission oil change...every 3,000 miles or 3 months you need an engine oil change...so check that...
the spark plugs and wires,change the rotor if it hasn't been changed for a while...and check if the radiator needs flushing...

Hi Keith, my collegs are being right but now you have to change tappet cover gasket.That will stop the oil consumption.Change the spark plugs as well.Please.

it could happened after washing , i think they have wash the car and some amount of water got in side of fuel flap sensor , try to clean it, or you have to replace it. thanks.

Yes, you must remove it. The oil pan plug is a BOLT, not a large allen head type screw.

How do you change tail lights for the 2003 passat


Rear Turn Signal, Brake and Parking Lights Removal & Installation To Remove
  1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Harness connector
    • Combination nuts
    • Lamp and its assembly toward rear
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Lamp and its assembly into position
    • Combination nuts; torque to 35 lb-in. (4 Nm)
    • Harness connector
This is the only thing the tech manual says.

go to the dealer to let them change the plugs. the cost is not that must, taken into account the lifetime.
