Question about Chevrolet Malibu
Is the check engine light on? If it is, I would take it to Autozone and have that checked out for free. They will put it on their little hand held diagnostic computer and give you the codes that your car is having problems. More than likely it is the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I don't know how much you know about cars, but the MAF Sensor acts as a choke somewhat. I am sure that you will find that the MAF sensor is malfunctioning. Price for a MAF sensor is anywhere from $80-$300. But I am sure that it is the problem. I would start by getting the diagnostic code though. Another thing, no matter what sensor it is DISCONNECT the battery before removing and installing ANY sensor. The cars computer is VERY sensitive to shorting out while changing sensors. I hope this helps you out! Please rate by selecting the thumbs up! Thanks!
