Question about Jeep Grand Cherokee
First thing I should say is I have never reset an oil guage so I have no idea. Ok, close to the oil filter their is a wire that plugs into the sending unit. Whenever I change the oil I always unplug that wire so its not in my way when removing or installing the filter. Let me know if that helps.

I would start by obtaining a new oil pressure sender unit at autozone or advance. These are screw out and screw in with a deep well socket easy install once you find the location. I would suspect the sender going awry before the gauge and the doing anything with the gauge will involve taking dashboard apart.
