Hi this sounds like a battery fault, i think it has gone flat, have you tried jump starting it from another vehicle?, if this works then you might need to get your alternator checked out as this might not be charging the battery, this will also have the same affects as what you have described, also get the battery checked to .....hope this helps

2007 chevy impala water damage hesitation when I press the gas

Usually caused by a problem with the engine air intake. Check the entire intake system including the filter and throttle body, and particularly the MAP (mass air flow) sensor and the IAC (idle air control motor).

Does my 2002 Chevy Impala have an idle speed control screw that I can raise my idle speed with

Well then you have a problem with the IAC - idle air control valve , air fuel mixture , mass air flow sensor , vacuum leak or some other problem with electronic fuel injection , OBD 2 ,emissions etc... There is an idle speed , minimal setting .Adjusting this will throw off the computer system , check engine light will come on an you won't be able get it to go out ! The PCM - engine computer controls the idle speed through the use of the IAC - motor or valve . Idle Air Control Valve You need to have it fix properly ! Check engine light on ?

My chevy impala lacks power and acts very bad sluggish while accelerating

Any check engine/service engine soon light? Could be a clogged catalytic convertor, search for cleaning a catalytic convertor. Try cleaning the mass air flow sensor, it is before the throttle plate. If you are losing coolant, your engine is prone to this, it could be leaking intake gaskets.

Does a 2001 chevy impala come with a map sensor or just a mass air flow sensor ?

They have both. If you have a 3.1/3.4L, the map sensor is located at the rear of the engine compartment directly beside the ignition coils. If you have a 3.8L, I believe it is located at the front of the engine (right side of engine bay).

I have a 2000 Chevy Impala and my car only stay crank if my foot is on the gas, when I release , it shuts off. It's not the mass air flow sensor or fuel pump what can it be??

Inspect, clean or replace the Idle Air control valve...about $35 for the part...also how is the air filter? A clogged catalytic converter can cause this too? ( A free check at quality muffler shops. Hope this helps.

Change thermostat on 2004 chevy impala?

first you need drain engine coolant down below thermostat. what engine type 3.8 or 3.4 need to know.the 3.8 engine thermostat housing on top intake follow top radiator hose to thermostat housing.the 3.4 engine you have to remove air filter housing with air inlet duct with mass air flow have to remove throttle body with coolant hoses.go to auto parts store buy new throttle body hoses old ones will be hard to remove might have to cut two small hoses also buy new throttle body gasket also. before you can remove throttle body unit you have to remove accelerator cable and downshift cable from bracket bolted to throttle body.once throttle body remove then you can remove thermostat housing bolt remove replace thermostat.

Code reading

Hi. this code represents an issue within the mass air flow sensor. it is malfunctioning at this point. the mass air flow sensor Measures the volume and density of air entering the engine, so the electronic control module can determine how much fuel is needed to maintain the correct air to fuel mixture. There are two basic types: heated wire and heated film (grid); both work on the same principle.

A faulty MAF will cause driveability problems resulting from incorrect ignition timing and improper air/fuel ratios.

this device is located Under hood, center, upper engine area, mounted on rear of air intake duct

To replace a MAF sensor:
  • Locate the sensor.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Unplug the wiring harness and vacuum hose.
  • Unscrew the two screws holding the sensor in place.
  • Reverse the procedures to install a new sensor.
Please rate and god bless:)
