Question about Hyundai Santa Fe

I have a 2007 Santa Fe 2.2crdi manual, after approx half an hour of continous driving the cutch pedal starts to loose pressure and eventually sticks to the floor when pressed. I have replaced the master cylinder first but still the same and then a pressure valve which a hyundai garage said to change which is mounted into the master cylinder. I have also changed all the fluid, fully bled the system with dot 4 fluid and there is no trace of a leek at the clutch slave cylinder and fluid level is not dropping in the resovoir.

Got me this one thats for sure ,firstly check the bell housing bolts in case its loose and separating ,yes i have had this before now,but i would suspect that the parts you fitted could be defective and in all honesty i would need to have a drive to experiance the problem happening then i would definatly know whats wrong .But i suspect that either the master cylinder or this valve which i have never seen ,if anything it shouldnt need a valve at all but i can see what its doing as its holding a residual pressure in the hydraulic system because the master cylinder should hold its own pressure but obviously its a poor design .I havent seen or noticed this pressure valve on a europeon model but that doesnt mean to say its not their .I think i would be inclined to strip the master cylinder and check the seal though it could have been damaged in manufacture who knows .Never accept the addage that because its new its ok ?? I assume that when the pedal hits the floor and stays the vehicle still has drive and isnt just stationary and not moving like the clutch is disengaged .

The hydrolic fluid maybe low or the slave cylinder or master cylinder maybe have bad seals

either fuel pressure from the regulator is messing up or your pump is about to die.. hard to say with out putting a gauge on the rail.

Is there a diagram of where the clutch return spring is on a 2008 Hyundia Santa Fe?

The clutch don't have spring to return. hydraulic pressure return the pedal. if you pedal go down to the flour and don't return you lost the pressure. First look in the reservoir for fluid. add DOT3 brake fluid and bleed the system. inspect for leak

Check the pivot point of the accelerator pedal and lubricate if possible. Check for freyed (broken) wires at the cable ends and check for kinks if you have a cable

2004 hyundai santa fe will not start without pumping the gas pedal after a gas fill-up. research on the internet points to a vent valve. how do i replace it?

The evaporative emissions system consists of 5 major components
1. Charcoal Canister
2. Canister Close Valve (CCV)
3. Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV)
4. Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (or differential pressure sensor) (FTPS)
5. Canister Air Filter & Fuel Filler Cap

If you haven't done it already, you should have a qualified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this problem. My experience tells me you have a Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV) that is sticking open and is applying constant engine vacuum to the charcoal canister (which was just freshly saturated with gasoline/fuel vapors when you refueled the vehicle).

You can Go to and register your vehicle by VIN #.. you'll then have access to wiring diagrams, shop manuals, service bulletins, illustrations and procedures, etc.

Gas pedal reving up and not relaxing.

I have had a problem on a 2008 Santa Fe with the gas pedal going to idle while driving. I shut the car off and turned it back on and it behaved normally so I drove it to the dealer. It had triggered the check engine light and the Hyundai mechanics were able to read a code that told them that the problem was in the sensor on the pedal. They replaced it under warranty. No problem since.
