My 2006 Faord Taurus will not start - turn the key and all you hear is ticking sound in the dash. I can turn the key backward to get dash power for radio, etc., but nothing but ticking when turning the key forward.

Have you tried jumping the car? Problem may be low battery or corroded terminals.

U have an unservicable silonide it sounds, but clean terminals on the battery first and check for voltage if u have a multi tester for proper voltage............If everything works out fine with the battery then it may be the silonide........U can also cross out the silonide with a screwdriver....You will fint the silonide by tracing the pos terminal from the battery..........You will have some sparking at first, but if the starter ingages it is the silonide...Hope this helps.

Suddenly my car is dead

Sounds like your starter is bad.

When I start my 96 ford Taurus I have no radio or windshield wipers or speedometer. But when turn key backwards radio and wipers work

I am betting it is your ignition switch- it is just like any other type of switch, in that it has contacts that eventually wear out. Once you turn the key to start the car, it returns to a position that maintains the contacts to power your accessories, and it sounds like those contacts inside the ignition switch are worn or broken. The "acc" contacts when you turn the key backward are rarely used so they are still in good shape, unlike the "run" contacts which get hit every time you start the car.

Got power in the car but when i turn the key to the on position it wont start all i hear is a clicking noise under the dash

One of 2 things. Either the battery is low, you have power, but not enough cranking amps to start car. Or the antitheft is not communicating correctly and the ticking sound is from the TDM . (theft deterrent module). Here is a link for the antitheft system. If you see a light on your dash that says "security" then this is your problem. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Not getting fuel to carberator and fuse #2 problem.

#2 has nothing to do with engine. It's the courtesy lights and such. #9 is the fuel pump. You'll have to see if you have power to your fuel pump. If it's working you should hear it cut in for a few seconds when you first turn your key to the "on" position. If you hear nothing, it's either burnt out again, or the power wire to it is faulty.

When you turn the key on, there is a ticking sound in the dash.

sounds like one of the relays is defective. turn on the key and feel the tops of the relays in the fuse panel.... the one that is ticking needs to be replaced.

1997 F-250 won't start.

I assume you have enough gass.

What are the sounds you are hearing.
Does it tick or make the common sound before it starts the engine.

If it ticks and doesn't make the common sound it's plausible you have a problem with your "start engine" (don''t know the english term) or a problem with a fuse.

If it makes the common sound but doesn't start, check all the cables if its fitted. See if the filters are clean (especially the fuel filter).
