It's on the passenger side opposite where the linkage attaches on the drivers side of the transmission. Part new is about $220. so either try to get a scrapyard one or if you are good with electronics you can carefully open it up and clean the contacts. Be careful though, there are small springs in there. R&R instructions are found in chilton or haynes manuals.

You need to adjust the park neutral saftey switch. the problem you are having is the truck thinks the it is not in Park so the truck will not start unless it is all the way in park. Take the keu turn half way and move shifter to neutral and see if it starts. Then I cam tell you how to adjust it.

WHERE IS THE NEUTRAL SAFTEY SWITCH LOCATED ON A 1992 HONDA ACCORD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

it's under the console--see picture and instructions below and let me know if you have more questions.

fe6c30d.gif
To replace the shift position switch, firmly set the parking brake and block the wheels. Place the shift selector in N. Remove the console. The switch is located on the side of the shift selector, held by 2 bolts or nuts. Unplug the wiring connectors, then remove the switch.
When installing the switch, make sure the switch slider is positioned to align with the shifter arm or tab. Install the switch, tighten the retaining nuts or bolts and connect the wiring. Reinstall the console.
After installing the switch, check that the engine starts only in P or N; the starter should not engage with the shifter in any other position. Check also that the back-up lights come on when the selector is placed in R.

Your switch is on the passenger side of the transmission opposite where the shift linkage goes in on the drivers side.It takes a bit of careful prying and wiggling and some solvent to get most to come off. after removing the hardware that holds it on. The switch goes for about $200 but can be taken apart and cleaned...unless the contacts are really burned it will generally work after that. make sure that you keep it flat when taking it apart because stuff inside can fall out easily. Put dielectric grease in there before closing it up.Can't help with schematic...the ones I have I wouldn't wish on anyone. (terrible)
